Sony have been under a bit of scrutiny for the way their Smartwatch 3 looks. It’s their first Android Wear smartwatch, and while it’s not the best looking smartwatch out there, it’s still not a bad one. It’s basically an all silicon smartwatch, aside from the watch face. Although, Sony has just changed that. There is now a stainless steel Smartwatch 3 that they’ll be selling later this year. They also unveiled the Smartwatch 3 holder. Basically it allows you to use any 24mm watch band on your smartwatch 3. So you can get a leather band, or a steel band or any band you want. That’s a pretty big deal actually. Because currently you are stuck with Sony’s proprietary bands for the Smartwatch 3, which probably hurt their sales, especially when looking at that $300 price tag.
We just recently reviewed the Sony Smartwatch 3, in fact the review went out on Saturday. I actually really liked the Smartwatch 3, although there were a few things that I didn’t like too much. For instance the always on display. It’s pretty tough to see it indoors. Also the display is a bit washed out compared to the Moto 360, and LG G Watch R. Which isn’t a terrible thing, but definitely not something you’d expect from the most expensive Android Wear smartwatch that’s currently on the market.
That’s not all that Sony has to announce today either. We’ll be covering everything that Sony has to announce today, so make sure you stay tuned. Lots of goodies coming out of CES today, including the LG G Flex 2, which is a pretty awesome smartphone from LG. Not much changes compared to the LG G3. We’ve got plenty more news coming from CES today and throughout the week, so make sure you stay tuned.
