The Nexus 9 is in stock at the Google Play store, 16GB or 32GB WiFi model

Nexus 9-34

November 3rd marks official launch date for Google‘s latest tablet, the Nexus 9. Well, that day has arrived for much of the globe, and you can now find the Nexus 9 available for sale through the Google Play Store, expected to leave their warehouse in one or two business days.

Not all versions are ready just yet, but you can grab the White or Black WiFi-only models now in 16GB or 32GB capacities.

The Nexus 9 also comes in a Tan color, which is still listed as “coming soon.” The same goes for the LTE versions of this 8.9-inch Android 5.0 Lollipop powered tablet, with no indication of release date, nor pricing.

Nexus 9-35

The Nexus 9 is a bit of an oddity in being one of only a few Android devices with a 4:3 display aspect ratio. Not that this is a detractor from the device, as the display is proving to be pleasant to look at. From there, the HTC built slate is about everything you would expect from a modern day high-end Android Tablet.

Rocking the NVIDIA Tegra K1 CPU clocked at 2.3GHz, backed by 2GB of RAM and a 6700mAh battery, the Nexus 9 offers no shortage of oomph and promises decent battery life. Not to mention, the Tegra K1 is a 64-bit SoC. Rounding out the package, that 8.9-inch IPS LCD display, as listing in the Play Store, measures at QXGA, 2048×1536 resolution. An 8MP camera graces the rear of the device, while the front brings dual HTC BoomSound speakers.

If you’ve got $399 set aside for a new tablet, snap up the 16GB model from the Google Play Store now. For a few dollars more, the 32GB model, also in Black or White, will run you $479.

Motorola to offer Moto X with football leather back

moto x football back Here’s some exciting news for American football fans; it looks like you’re soon going to be able to pick up a Moto X with a football leather back.

Motorola already offers a leather option for devices created with MotoMaker, but this new back will reportedly look and feel just like a football. The company that supplies Motorola with their leather also happens to be the sole supplier of the NFL’s footballs, so expect something high quality.

The new option is slated to be available in the third week of November, and it’ll probably cost you an extra $25 on top of your other customization options like the current leather options.

[Game Roundup] Our Top Seven Picks For The Best New Games Of October 2014

nexusae0_icon_thumb1_thumbTo be frank, October was a bit bare of notable game releases, unless you count ports and adaptations of older titles. Our monthly top seven contains three ports, one adaptation of a card game, and one modified version of a casual PlayStation title. Only Botanicula and Rovio's surprisingly engaging Retry stand on their own. Still, there's plenty to choose from if all you need is a diversion, and our Honorable Mention section includes some choice entries for RPG and horror fans.

Motorola Publishes Kernel Source Code For The Second-Generation Moto X And Moto G

xxxx The 2014 releases of the Moto X and Moto g have been available for a few weeks, but for some reason Motorola has been a bit slow to release the usual mandatory kernel source code. Today you can find them both on Motorola's development GitHub, confirmed by a Motorola employee in the comment section of the wider MSM kernel. Get after it, ROM cookers.

If you've never read one of these posts before, the kernel is the Linux-based baseline software that runs underneath Android and allows it to interact with phone or tablet hardware.
