Pioneer E82L Gets Announced In China, This Is A Mid-Ranger Which Has Support For 4G Connectivity

Pioneer is not the first company you think of when smartphones are concerned. I say this pretty much every time Pioneer smartphones are concerned, and those handsets really don’t get released that often. This Japan-based company is doing their best to keep up with some other smartphone manufacturers though and offer something of their own to the consumers. Pioneer often concentrates on the mid-range segment of the market though, so if you’re interested in mid-range handsets and you live in China, you might want to read on.

This company has just released a Pioneer E82L handset in China. This is a mid-range handset which features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS LCD display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. This handset is powered by MediaTek’s MT6732 SoC, a 64-bit quad-core chip clocked at 1.5GHz which ships with Mali-T760 GPU for graphics rendering. As far as cameras are concerned, this device comes equipped with 8 and 2-megapixel snapper on the back and front of the device (CMOS sensors), respectively. Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed on this handset and we’re talking about a dual-SIM (mini SIM + micro SIM) handset here. 4G LTE connectivity is also available here, this device comes with support for TD-LTE and TD-SCDMA network bands. Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and a 2,000mAh battery are also a part of the package.

The price for this handset hasn’t been announced yet, but the device will be available in China soon it seems. That being said, Pioneer needs to price this handset as low as possible, competition in China is fierce and it will be tough for Pioneer to sell a lot of these devices. If the company manages to hit the right pricing, they have a chance if nothing else, if not, I’m afraid they’ll get chrushed by companies like Meizu and Xiaomi in China.
