YouTube Gets Updated With Material Design [APK Download]

54824d803365a

The update everyone has been waiting for is finally here - YouTube has been updated with some material design goodness. The app's makeover is essentially what you'd expect - along with circular avatars (per Google's spec), it features a tall, tabbed toolbar in YouTube's signature vibrant red brand color, a full-height material nav drawer, and a clean white background.

Channels receive special attention, with Lollipop's Palette API pulling colors from the channel art to color the app's toolbar.

SCR Screen Recorder 5+ Free Booted Off The Play Store For Tiny Error After Two Million Downloads, Now Re-Listed

unnamed (18) Developer Iwo Banaś is not having a good week. The free version of his SCR Screen Recorder app, which we featured on Android Police last month, was unceremoniously kicked off of the Play Store for "Violation of the System Interference provision of the Content Policy." Exactly what that means is outlined in a Google Support document: basically it says that ads can't impersonate portions of the Android interface or imply that they're something that they're not, like a fake virus warning or Facebook message.

Consider this a quick update for the dedicated gamers who can't wait for our bi-weekly roundups, and don't want to wade through a whole day's worth of news just to get their pixelated fix. Today we've got an intentionally farcical football game, a strangely addictive ninja slasher, and a game about a moose that lives in the jungle.

The first gen Moto G (2013) is now receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop

Motorola Moto G

We knew Motorola was planning to roll out Android 5.0 Lollipop for the first generation Motorola Moto G (2013) sometime soon after an update to Motorola Update Services app hinted as much. It seems the rollout may already be underway as a user on XDA posted yesterday evening that he received the update prompt on his Moto G XT1033 (the original model with the 4.5-inch display and dual SIM) in India.

The software version shown is 220.21.16.en.03 and officially marks the first gen Moto G as one of the most affordable handsets on the planet to run the absolute latest Android firmware. Might have to gift myself one of these bad boys for Christmas. Sit tight. We expect the rollout to hit more regions in the coming days. For more info about all the new goodies in Android 5.0 Lollipop, check out Motorola’s page here .

Aaron Paul’s ‘Yo B*tch!’ will launch on Android early next year

breaking-bad-jesse-pinkman-and-walter-white

Most people know of Aaron Paul thanks to his captivating role on television’s Breaking Bad. The now iconic character — Jesse Pinkman — could be found screaming the catchphrase “Yo, b*tch!” in various episodes. It was his schtick and nobody did it quite like him. Because messaging apps are the hottest trend in mobile, Aaron Paul is teaming up with Maximilian & Co., an LA-based design company, to launch an app called just that: Yo, B*tch. Well, it’s listed as YB in app stores to keep from stepping on toes.

If you’re familiar with Yo, YB acts in much the same way. You can’t actually type out messages to anyone, instead you send various phrases ending with the word “b*tch” — all spoken out in Aaron Paul’s voice. Via in-app purchases, users can unlock even more phrases like the 99 cent Socrates pack which houses “HOW, B*TCH” or “YOU SERIOUS, B*TCH!” We’ve done it, folks. We’ve reached the pinnacle of 21st century communication.

Yo Btch YB app

Really, the app is supposed to be fun and that fact that there’s no entry fee means soon you could be receiving curse words from your 7 year old niece. Although available for iOS, Aaron Paul did mention that an Android version is due out early next year. We’ll keep an eye out for ya.
