Last year was definitely not the best ever for Samsung. This Korea-based tech giant had issues keeping their profits up in 2014 and have started changing things around because of it. Samsung Galaxy Alpha was the first Samsung-made smartphone which features metal as part of its design. This handset has a metallic frame which goes around the device and makes it look and feel a lot better than before. Some other Samsung handset adopted a similar build afterwards, the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge and of course the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7. The latter three are kind of Galaxy Alpha’s siblings and are Samsung’s attempt to regain some of the marketshare it lost, especially in China.
The Galaxy Alpha A3 and A5 already launched in select markets and their launch in India has been rumored for quite some time now. It seems like this will finally happen tomorrow, at least according to the latest available information. Samsung India has been sending out invites for their press event tomorrow, which will take place in Mumbai. “an exclusive preview of the latest innovations that bring a confluence of Style and Technology,” says the tagline, which basically points straight to the Galaxy A3 and A5 launches that have been rumored recently. Those of you who live in India and are interested in either of these handsets, you might want to be ready to splash out some cash soon.
Both of these handsets are mid-range, though the Galaxy A5 is a more powerful and a more expensive of the two. Samsung Galaxy A3 features a 4.5-inch 960 x 540 Super AMOLED display along with 1.5GB of RAM for all your multitasking actions and 16GB of internal storage. 8 and 5-megapixel cameras are also present here, on the back and front of this handset, respectively. The Galaxy A5 sports a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) Super AMOLED panel, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built storage. 13-megapixel camera is located at the back of this device, while there’s a 5-megapixel snapper available up front. Both of these handsets are powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz which ships with an Adreno 306 GPU.
The Galaxy A3 is expected to cost around $350, while the Galaxy A5 will probably be $100 more expensive. Anyone out there interested in either of these devices?
