One of Logitech’s brands, Ultimate Ears or UE, has announced a brand new Bluetooth speaker at CES today. It’s the UE Megaboom. For most, you’ll probably think it’s the same as the UE Boom that’s been out for quite a while, and we reviewed last year. But it’s bigger and better. With even deeper bass. It blasts music in 360-degrees, it’s also waterproof with a IPX7 rating and has a stain resistant acoustic skin. The UE Megaboom weighs in at a little under 2 pounds as well. Which is pretty light for a speaker this size. The battery life is rated at about 20 hours as well. As far as the Bluetooth range, we’re looking at about 100 feet. Similar to the UE Boom, you can also double up. Meaning you can connect two Bluetooth speakers together and get even more sound.
“People want their music wherever they go, and to be part of everything they do,” said Rory Dooley, general manager of Ultimate Ears. “That’s why we designed UE MEGABOOM to be strong enough to withstand your life and your adventures, and allow you to share the magic of music wherever you go.”
The UE Megaboom will be available in the US and select countries in Europe and Asia beginning in January 2015. The price is going to be around $299.99, which is about $100 more than the UE Boom, which I think is definitely worth the price at this point. We should have a review unit coming in soon so we’ll be taking an in-depth look at this speaker in the coming weeks ahead. How many of you are excited to check out the UE Megaboom from Logitech? Be sure to let us know in the comments down below. Also, if you are at CES this week in Las Vegas, be sure to stop by Logitech’s booth and see what all they have to offer.
