Lenovo unveils new Vibe Band wearable with an e-ink display

As the CES event is going on in full flow over at Las Vegas, Chinese manufacturer Lenovo has just unveiled a new smartwatch sporting an energy efficient e-ink display. The Vibe Band VB10 as it is known, can be customized extensively, giving it a unique look compared to rival offerings.

It is without a doubt, the best competitor to the Pebble Smartwatch in the market today and Lenovo will be mindful of that. The device has a 1.43 inch display with a pixel density of 240 PPI, which isn’t all that bad for a wearable. Since it’s using an e-ink panel, the visibility on the device will remain consistent, even in bright sunlight.

The body of the Vibe Band is metal and the straps can be interchanged according to the users’ liking. So fans will not be left wanting for more as far as customization is concerned.

The Vibe Band VB10 is made specifically for the U.S. market and will not be available elsewhere. Pricing will be set at $90 when the device reaches shelves sometime in April this year. It’s running a custom OS and is only compatible devices running Android 4.4 KitKat or above.

Given the price tag and the ability to do everything that the Pebble can, the Vibe Band VB10 has the potential to be the best smartwatch available in the market today.
