OneDrive Promo Allows Users to Keep Their 15GB of Storage if They Want It

Last month, Microsoft announced that it would lower the amount of storage free users were receiving on OneDrive, bringing them down from 15GB, to just 5GB. Naturally, people were pissed, taking to the forums and calling Microsoft out for the move. Now, Microsoft has announced a new promo for those who intend on fighting for their 15GB of free storage.

With changes to the amount of allotted storage set to take place next year, Microsoft is allowing anyone who wants to keep the 15GB of storage to opt-in to a promo, entitling them to keep the 15GB. In addition, if users had the Camera Roll Bonus, which is another 15GB of storage, they get to keep that, too. However, you must opt-in before the end of January, 2016.

Over on the OneDrive forums, Microsoft’s Douglas Pearce apologized for the company’s initial move. “We are all genuinely sorry for the frustration this decision has caused and for the way it was communicated,” Douglas wrote.

In order to take advantage, follow the below link and opt-in to keep your storage.

DEAL: This Quick Charge 3.0 Adapter 2-Pack is Just $29.99

Back in September, Qualcomm announced Quick Charge 3.0, the next evolution of quick charging, which could grab your phone up to 80% charge in just 35 minutes of time. It’s also backwards compatible, so even if you don’t have a phone that can take advantage at this time (and trust me, no one does outside of One A9 owners who are waiting for an update to enable it), you can still use a QC 3.0 charger to charge your QC 2.0-ready phones at a rapid pace (more info).

If you want to begin future-proofing your charging world, since most phones next year will likely be QC 3.0-ready, we have a deal to help. At the DL Deals store, you can grab a pair of Limefuel Quick Charge 3.0 wall adapters for just $29.99.

That’s a pretty solid deal, since most QC 3.0. adapters are individually selling from $16 to $30 at this time. With this pack, you are getting two at an average of $15 per.

Google Shares 7 Things to Try with Voice Search On Mobile

Most of our readers here have been with us long enough to know that Google Search on mobile wasn’t always as useful as it is now. There was a time when Android fans were clamoring for the ability to say “Ok Google, Turn on WiFi.” Well, did you know we can finally do that now?

Over at the Official Google Search Blog, the team detailed a few tips and tricks that the Search app on your phone can take care of with just a few spoken words. In addition to the “Turn on WiFi” command, the Search app can turn volume up or down, turn on Bluetooth mode or switch to airplane mode if you’ve had enough of it all.

A few things on the list are commands that I’m sure most of you have tried by this point, including searching for YouTube videos by voice, or finding cooking recipes just by asking. However, the Search app has the ability to respond to “Find me a nonstop flight from LA to Austin.” And after you get over the shock of the price of those flights around the holiday season, you can ask follow-up questions that specify business or economy, or certain cities you want to connect through. Pretty nifty right?

And if you’re feeling lucky, you can always trust Google to find the right music for when you’re sitting in front of a warm fire. Play Music’s recent integration with Songza made it easy to ask for playlists surrounding a mood. Just ask for “Holiday Music” and let the app go to work.

To see the full list of suggestions from the Googlers that built the app, head to their blog.

Google App Update Introduces Quick Screen Sharing Feature

Ever wanted to quickly snap a screenshot of something and then share with a friend, only you don’t have the fingers necessary to do Android’s simultaneous press of Power+Volume Down? Or maybe you just don’t want to do that action, then go find the notification for it or screenshot taken before sharing? An update to the Google app (might be the beta as v5.7.13.19) that started rolling out last night adds a new feature to Now on Tap that will make this all easier.

In the update, we are seeing a new share button when Now on Tap is activated, in the bottom left corner, that takes screenshots and then lets you quickly share them! I know, I know, this doesn’t seem like that big of a deal, but it is actually pretty handy. From any screen, even if Now on Tap doesn’t find anything, you can hit the share button and send your screen, sans status and navigation bars. It also doesn’t save the image to your phone, gobbling up unnecessary space.

This is how it works:

google now on tap share google now on tap share-2 google now on tap share-3

And this is what your screenshots look like:

google now on tap share-5 google now on tap share-4 google now on tap share-6

Pretty sweet, right?

Update to the latest version of the Google App to get it (or join the beta program). Of course, you’ll need to be on Marshmallow too.

Once purchased, you will receive an email with a code for that same movie in your email within 48 hours for you to share with someone. The list of movies is sparse, but there are a few gems being offered:

  • Jurassic Park
