HTC Desire 510 announced as a low-end device with a 64-bit processing

The latest device announced by HTC is the Desire 510. Since launching the HTC One (M8) earlier this year, the company has opted to release some devices for the low-end and mid-range markets. The Desire 510 is another one of those devices with low-end specifications. While there are certainly some low points to the Desire 510, there is one part of it inside that stands out.

Don’t let the Desire 510′s 1GB of RAM fool you. The processor is the Snapdragon 410. This means that the Desire 510 supports both 32-bit and 64-bit processing. The Snapdragon 410 processor is one of Qualcomm’s 64-bit supported ones that are targeted for low-end devices. The others are slated to arrive early next year or even as this year comes to an end. The Snapdragon 410 is a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. While the Desire 510 is not blazing fast on paper, it should be completely capable on a daily basis.

The Desire 510 has a 4.7-inch display, but the resolution is not high definition. It is actually 854×480. At its core is Android 4.4 and HTC’s software overlay is present. BlinkFeed, for example, is definitely here as you can see in the image above. Android L, which will support 64-bit processing, is coming in a future update for the Desire 510.

The front camera is VGA and the one on the rear of the Desire 510 is 5MP. The processor does allow a 13

A microSD card slot compliments the 8GB of internal storage. The body of the Desire 510 that covers all of its internals is plastic; therefore, the 2100mAh battery is removable.

The Desire 510 will be released in select regions of Europe and Asia while select carriers in the United States will have the Desire 510 available. If history is any indication, AT&T will be one of the carriers in the U.S. to sell the Desire 510.

YouTube can now import videos from Google+

Taking an existing video from your Google+ profile and uploading it to YouTube cannot get any easier. YouTube now has a button in its sidebar on the Upload page that is for importing videos from Google+. Users can upload one video or even multiple videos simultaneously.

So when backing up videos to Google+ from an Android device, you can then quickly transfer them over to YouTube to make them public.

Instagram says Hyperlapse for Android isn’t possible until Google makes changes to camera APIs

Early this afternoon, the world became enamored with Instagram’s latest mobile app since launching Bolt a few weeks ago. It’s called Hyperlapse and the app essentially allows users to create beautiful time lapse videos using nothing but their smartphones. Sure, there are a few apps that already do something similar, but it’s nothing close to the way Hyperlapse handles time lapse video.

Instead of taking photos and later converting them into a video, Hyperlapse simply records video (doesn’t snap photos), showing the real-world time passed and time of the outputted sped up video. Once finished, Hyperlapse is able to stitch together snaps shots into a single, incredibly stabilized video. Really, it’s pretty remarkable and results speak for themselves.

The only problem is the app, like many others, is only available on iOS, leaving Android users out in the cold. Because we’re sure, like us, many of you are wondering when an Android version will be available you probably shouldn’t hold your breath. Before you get upset, this has less to do with any sort of exclusivity deals or platform favoritism.

In a statement given to Wired earlier today, Instagram says Google will have to make some changes to the camera and gyroscope APIs on Android before Hyperlapse could ever become compatible with our devices. Bummer. The good news (if any) is that Instagram is ready and willing, so the future of Hyperlapse for Android isn’t entirely bleak.

Braven’s 705 Bluetooth Speaker now Official, with 12+ Hours of Battery Life

This morning, Braven announced a brand new Bluetooth speaker. This is the 705, which is available in eight different colors, which is different for Braven. As usually they are only available in silver, seeing as they are aluminum, that’s what you’d expect. But the Braven 705 is available in yellow, pink, purple, teal, blue, white, gray and black. The gray and black ones look really nice, in my opinion. These Bluetooth speakers feature 12 hours of battery life. But in my experience with Braven’s speakers, you can usually get an extra hour or two on top of what they tout their speakers as having. So it should last you all day and then some. Braven’s TrueWireless allows you to pair multiple Braven 700-series Bluetooth Speakers together. We did this with a couple of their speakers earlier this year, and it works great and setup is a breeze.

Verizon Teases Upcoming VoLTE Service With Video Calling

Even if you don't talk on the phone a lot, VoLTE is going to be a thing that you want. Replacing the old 3G standards for voice will mean one less radio always sucking down power in your device when you're in an LTE area. Verizon (as well as other carriers) is already testing VoLTE on some of its devices, and it apparently also intends to build video calling into VoLTE-capable phones as part of its so-called "Advanced Calling 1.0" initiative in the coming weeks.
