Xiaomi has been all over the place lately, while Meizu on the other hand, was relatively quiet. Not only did we not see any official news for a while now, but even the rumors and leaks have been relatively quiet lately. We did, however, know that Meizu will hold an event at the end of January, and now the company has confirmed that fact. This China-based company has already sent out invitation for the event that will take place in Beijing Convention Center on January 28.
If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll see a couple of images of the aforementioned invitation. There’s nothing special about it, but it’s nice and it does the trick. Meizu is expected to unveil the smaller version of their M1 Note handset, M1 Mini if you will, though we still don’t know if the company will use that name or not. This handset will quiet probably sport the same specifications as the M1 Note, but will have a smaller, 5-inch display. So, we’re looking at the 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 2GB of RAM and 16 or 32GB of non-expandable internal storage. This handset will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6752 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz which ships with Mali T760 GPU for graphics processing. 13 and 5-megapixel cameras will also be a part of the package, on the back and front of this device, respectively. Dual-LED, dual tone flash will be located on the back as well and the device will offer 4G LTE connectivity. Keep in mind that these are not confirmed specs of this handset, but we’ve seen it leaked many times and everything points to a smaller version of the M1 Note.
That being said, Meizu might announce some additional hardware at their January 28 event. Some images leaked (which you also can check out in the gallery below), and it seems like they mysteriously teaser more “smart home” products. We still have no idea what exactly Meizu plans to announce there though, will we see a new category of devices from Meizu perhaps? Let us know what you think, as usual.
