Operating a YouTube channel from a mobile device can be pretty difficult. Until now, the only solution was to use the YouTube app. That changes today with Google’s release of the YouTube Creator Studio. This new app lets users track their channel’s statistics and respond to comments left by viewers. Users can also setup custom notifications. And, unsurprisingly, you can edit channel details to keep everything updated.

Google announced some new features for Chromecast yesterday, including the ability to connect to devices that aren’t on the same WiFi network. Turns out, the little device is going to use ultrasonic sounds to communicate with devices instead of the traditional WiFi connectivity. These sounds will be completely inaudible, so you won’t have to worry about any high pitched buzzing noises, but it should also keep any strangers off of your device.
This new form of communicating with devices will anyone around you to stream content to the Chromecast without bothering with getting your WiFi password and setting things up. The owner of the Chromeast has to specifically allow this type of connecting, of course, but it removes a lot of the friction around sharing videos and content.
These new features should roll out to Chromecasts in the next few weeks.

Earlier this month as part of T-Mobile’s Uncarrier 6.0 announcement, the company indicated they were not going to count data generated by several music streaming services against customers’ data caps. Going a step further, the company has now announced it will also exempt speed-testing apps from the limits. T-Mobile uses network throttling restrictions on user data when customers exceed their monthly data limit in lieu of charging overage fees.
T-Mobile indicated the popular Ookla Speedtest.net app in particular would be exempt, but other similar apps would also be whitelisted. According to T-Mobile, their goal with this move is to show off the data speeds available on its network. Of course, by removing the throttling restriction on speed-testing apps, this means customers will not be able to measure how much T-Mobile has slowed down data speeds for traffic that is not exempted from the restrictions.

Part of the 5000 new APIs and many small enhancements to be introduced with Android L that were revealed in a heavily packed slide at Google I/O is rotation lock on phones. That nifty Quick Setting toggle is currently only available on tablets in KitKat. On our stock Android phones, we have had to suffer the annoyance of delving into settings or using some third-party widget to lock the screen's orientation.

Description: NANACA+CRASH is a Japanese game for Android based on the popular browser game of the same name and it’s a fairly simple, yet charming and addictive game. Based around how far you can launch Taichi into the air by knocking him over on your bike, you need to select the right amount of power and the right angle in order to knock him as far as possible. It’s a simple game mechanic, but as he hits different characters as he travels down to earth, he might speed up or your run might end all together. You’ll need to try your best, time and time again in order to beat your best record.
How it Works: To get started with this, different game from the Far East, you’ll need to download NANACA+CRASH from the Play Store. After that, you’re ready to head to the tutorial and find out how to play.
When you first start playing, you’ll have to go through the tutorial, which is fairly laid back and easy to get grips with.
The general premise of the game is pretty simple and you just have to time it right.
When you hit Taichi, you’ll see him fly off into the air and he’ll keep on going depending on how hard you hit him and at which angle.
When Taichi hits certain characters, his flight will be sped up or if he hits Misato that’s it, game over.
During the game, you’ll see where the characters are waiting for you down below as well as the best record in distance.
At the end of each run, you’ll be given a high-score if you’ve managed to beat your last record.
Opinion: It’s pretty obvious that this isn’t your average type of Android game, and that sort of works in NANACA+CRASH’s favor. For Anime fans and those that just enjoy browser games that are simple and fun regardless, will really enjoy NANACA+CRASH. It’s a shame that the graphics don’t take better advantage of high-resolution displays, but the game certainly doesn’t look bad by any means. It’s simple, sure, but trying to go further than your last record can be really addictive and it’s certainly got a lot of charm to it. It could look better and hitting other characters could have more of an effect, but overall I enjoyed the change of page when playing NANACA+CRASH.

Conclusion: NANACA+CRASH is a fun game and while it’s not going to win any awards for being packed to the gills with features, it’s certainly one to give a try and see how you like it. I wish the graphics were a little sharper and that the game had some more features to it, but it’s charming and some good fun while it lasts. Well worth giving a go, NANACA+CRASH will have you trying to beat your score over and over.

Google previewed its new Android L release on stage during the Google I/O keynote today. One feature everyone noticed, but Google didn’t talk about was Android L’s new keyboard. The UI has been overhauled to match Google’s new Material Design.
Android L is Google’s next major version of Android. It is a complete redesign, and features Google’s new Material design guidelines. The L version is set for public release later this year.
Hidden in the Google design guidelines for L is a screenshot of a text field featuring the new keyboard. It appears that similarly to Apple’s iOS 7 keyboard, it can change color according to the app. This is because on stage the keyboard Googlers were using was a dark themed keyboard, but in the screenshot the keyboard has a light theme. That isn’t the only thing that’s changed, the text selection handles are circular rather than rectangular. The cut/copy/paste appears to be different, showing up above the text, instead of in the action bar.
I’m sure we’ll find out more about Android L tomorrow, when the factory images get released for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7.
