Today is officially media day at CES in Las Vegas. So you’re going to see a ton of posts from us today. The first press conference doesn’t start for a few more hours, but there’s still plenty of news to go around. Right now it’s Roku’s turn. And they have a few announcements to make. Roku announced their 4k Streaming plans this morning. They are working with Netflix on 4K streaming, but also have a Roku TV reference design for TV makers.

“As one of the first streaming services to offer 4K Ultra HD content to our customers, it’s important for Netflix to work closely with partners like Roku to give consumers more streaming options,” said Neil Hunt, chief product officer of Netflix. “We look forward to bringing Netflix 4K Ultra HD content to Roku customers.”

Additionally, Roku announced that you’ll soon be able to buy Roku TV Models by Insignia and Haier. They will be available exclusively at Best Buy. The Roku TV’s are built on the reference design from Roku. You can pretty much think of it as your Roku box built into your TV, so there’s no need to buy the box and the TV.

“Roku TV has set a new bar for the smart TV experience. From the personalized home screen, to Roku Search that searches across many top streaming channels, to the largest selection of streaming channels available on a smart TV, Roku TV delivers an experience consumers truly love,” said Chas Smith, general manager of OEM for Roku. “Insignia is an outstanding TV brand and combining its TV design with Roku’s powerful OS, content relationships and software expertise will provide Insignia customers with the best smart TV experience available at an affordable price.”

Roku TV also provides access to the Roku store with thousands of channels to choose from. Which is a great addition. If you’re at CES this week, make sure you check out Roku’s booth. There’s plenty to look at over there, including these new Roku TV’s.
