New Humble Bundle 12 features seven Android games, plus PC versions

humble bundle The newest Humble Bundle is live with seven Android games. All of the games come with PC versions, too, all of which redeem through Steam. The bundle is worth about $136.

The games are as follows:

  • Tetrobot and Co.

  • Titan Attacks!

  • The Inner World

  • VVVVVV

  • Costume Quest

  • Ironclad Tactics

  • Shadowrun Returns

Paying less than the average (which is around $5 right now) will net you the first four games. Paying over the average will also score Costume Quest and Ironclad Tactics, and paying over $10 will give you Shadowrun Returns. And, like always, there’s likely going to be a few more games thrown into the bundle later on, so keep an eye on that.

If you want to pick up this bundle, follow the link below.

More progress being made on pairing Android Wear with iPhones

android_wear_wear_what_you_want_watch_faces_Featured_Large If you’re an iPhone user that’s just not happy with the current selection of smartwatches, well, you’re probably on the wrong website, but there’s some good news on the horizon. Developer Mohammad Abu-Garbeyyeh recently released a video showing off how he paired a Moto 360 with an iPhone through some clever workarounds. Most of the functionality was borked, but you could at least check some text messages.

Today, he’s shown off some new progress on pairing the two together. It’s not a ton of improvement, but he’s able to answer a phone call made to the iPhone right from the Moto 360. There’s no jailbreaking, rooting, or anything else done to make this work. Just a simple APK sideloaded onto the Moto 360.

While developers like this are working at making Android Wear compatible with iOS, Google is supposedly working on their own iOS app to enable compatibility. Who do you think will get things working first?

Featured: Top 10 Best Apps For March Madness 2015

NCAA-March-Madness-Live-AH-1

On Sunday, the NCAA revealed the four regions for the NCAA Tournament which starts this week. All 68 teams have been announced and they know who they’ll be facing first. Now that March Madness is officially about to begin, how do we keep up all the madness? Well we’ve got quite a few great apps here that you can check out to keep up with the NCAA Tournament and see if Kentucky can make it to the magical 40-0.

ESPN

Everyone probably knows this app already, it’s the rebranded ScoreCenter app. It brings you all the latest scores, schedules, news, stats and more for College Basketball as well as just about every other sport under the sun. It’s a great all around app for any sports lover out there.

NCAA March Madness Live

This is the app that every college basketball fan needs. It’s from the NCAA and allows you to watch all of the games for free on your smartphone or tablet, as well as keeping you up to date on the scores, and who plays who next in the bracket. Oh and, NCAA March Madness Live also has material design.

Yahoo Sports

Much like ESPN, Yahoo Sports is an all around sports app that covers more than just NCAA Basketball. But it will keep you up to date with what’s going on in the NCAA Tournament, which is always important.

March Madness – 365 Scores

Just want to keep up with the scores from the tournament while you’re at work and supposed to be working? Then March Madness by 365 Scores will definitely do that for you. It’ll bring you all the scores in real time for each of the tournament games.

Want to compete with your friends in the ESPN Tournament Challenge? Then this is the app you need. You can create your bracket straight from the app, as well as keep up with it to see how you’re doing and whether your bracket is busted.

CBS Sports

Keeping up with the scores, stats and news of all the games in this year’s tournament is pretty tough to do. Using the CBS Sports app will definitely help you out. Their scores are real time, and where CBS is showing a few of the games, they should be live streaming them too.

Google Now

Yes, you can even keep up with March Madness with Google Now. Although you’ll need to change up your settings unless you just want to keep up with your own teams. However, their scores aren’t as quick as some of these other apps, but it is already pre-installed on your device.

NCAA Sports

Screenshot 2015-03-16 12.57.17

Keep up with all the college sports, not just college basketball with the NCAA Sports app. Although you can also keep up with all the happenings in March Madness with this app. If you want the live streaming, you’ll need the NCAA March Madness Live app though.

theScore

Screenshot 2015-03-16 12.58.49

This is one of my favorite apps for keeping up with different teams and sports, and it works great for March Madness. theScore is also material design, so it’s nice and smooth and looks great as well. It has a ton of great features, including covering just about every sport you could ever want to keep up with.

Google-Play-Banner-Get-it-On-Large1

WatchESPN

Screenshot 2015-03-16 13.01.04

With the WatchESPN app you can watch all the content that ESPN is streaming on any of their channels. Although you do need to login through your cable provider to really use the app. That also includes Sling TV. So if you subscribe to Sling TV, then you can login through WatchESPN and live stream everything.

Facebook Messenger is adding mobile payments, lets you send money to friends/family

Facebook Messenger Payments

The ability to send cash quickly and easily has seen a boom in recent months. Aside from mobile wallet services like Square Cash or Google Wallet, we’re now seeing it creep into messaging services like Snapchat and today, Facebook.

Using Facebook on the desktop or Messenger for Android and iOS, users in the US will now be able to send money to friends or loved ones inside as easily as sending a text message. Facebook decided to go with debit cards — for both sending and receiving (after creating a PIN) — so that users can avoid those transaction fees. Free is good. As usual, money being transferred is nearly instant, taking a few business days depending on your bank of choice.

We know, Facebook already knows just about everything about you and providing them with your credit card info may not sound like the best idea to some folks. In their announcement post, Facebook reminds users they have been processing payments for gamers and advertisers since ’07. In other words — they know what they’re doing.

Huawei Wants Google To Allow More Customization Of The Android Wear Platform

AH Huawei Watch_1

A lot of customers have complained that the problem with Android Wear is that, for the most part, all watches are more or less the same under the surface. According to an interview with TrustedReviews (source link below), Huawei feels much the same way. The Chinese manufacturer of the Huawei Watch is asking that Google make Android Wear a more customizable platform much like Android for mobile devices.

Yang Yong, Vice President of Product Management for Huawei, said that “Android Wear is not as open as Android. For the watch it cannot be a standard.” This brings home the point that no matter what device is you use, it will still have the same vanilla operating system at its core which offers the same experience overall from device to device with no major differences between competitors aside from hardware and watch faces. Yong said that they “want the users to feel that it’s their own watch, not a standard watch.” Yong may be pointing out that with the Apple watch release, there will be more competition for the watch space, and companies need the ability to customize their watches to separate them from the competition and to allow their own unique take on what a wearable should look like. Yong stated that “What we are doing is trying to make from the hardware view, in the design view, in the software view, in the surface view, we are trying to differentiate our watch to appeal to the consumers who will use it.”

Huawei feels that they should be able to add customization for different areas or markets. Simply adding different watch faces is not enough and that manufacturers lack the ability to separate themselves from other manufacturers and noted that customers “have different appetites for the watch.” If Google were to open the Android Wear experience and allow for more customization by the manufacturers, they would not only have a way to make themselves stand out, but more importantly stand out in what is becoming a saturated market. It is unclear if Google will ever open Android Wear and make it more customizable by the different manufacturers. For now, manufacturers will have to be content with different watch faces to satisfy their customer’s needs.

Sony Xperia Z4 leaked from every angle, exposed charging port means water resistance is up in the air

Sony Xperia Z4 onleaks

In an update to yesterday’s “teaser” leak where we only got a look at half of the device, we’re now getting a real good look at the upcoming Sony Xperia Z4 from just about every angle. The new renders, which the author notes are still early and subject to change, reveal some interesting changes coming to Sony’s flagship.

On the smaller side of changes, the SIM slot has been moved from the right side of the device to the left. Although it’s not labeled, it could share a slot with the micro SD card. You’ll also notice Sony going with more of an Xperia Z2 style speaker slits along the very top and bottom of the display glass. No biggie.

Sony Xperia Z4 leak front back 1

Probably the most notable changes are the absence of the charging dock pins along the side, as well as the moving of the charging port from the top left — where it was hidden under a waterproof flap — down to the bottom, where it is now completely exposed. Now, either Sony is not looking to equip the Z4 with water resistance, or we’re looking at some completely different Xperia device here.

Sony Xperia Z4 front back top

Sony Mobile has long made it a tradition of adding water resistance to their entire Xperia line, even on the low-end. Ditching this ethos on a new flagship seems counter-intuitive for a company that’s been struggling to make headway into a crowded smartphone market. While, it’s true Samsung did it for the Galaxy S6, they can afford to make risky moves like that. Sony can’t.

We wont know for sure what we’re looking at here, not until Sony makes it official. Judging by recent leaks — and the influx of 2015 flagships — we imagine that wont be too much longer.

Luxury Gift Manufacturer Goldgenie Preparing Gold Galaxy S6 And Galaxy S6 Edge Models

goldgenie-s6-edge-press_0

Goldgenie is a British luxury gift company famous for taking an existing product, such as an expensive high end, high quality smartphone, or maybe an iPhone, and covering it in gold. In Android circles, Goldgenie have plated the HTC One M7, HTC One M8 and HTC One Mini and for 2015, as well as the HTC One M9 they’re about to release a new gold product into the arena in the shape of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge devices, available in their luxury customized 24k Gold, Rose Gold and Platinum finishes. In Goldgenie’s blog on the subject, the company says: “Samsung has exchanged its recognisable plastic casing for premium glass and metal and the resulting devices are quite spectacular.” And of course, having the Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge finished in an expensive, luxury metal will only make the device that much more premium.

Goldgenie are putting the Galaxy S6 models on pre-order from this Friday morning, the 20 March at 0900 hours British Summer Time. It expects the devices to be ready a few weeks after the expected April 10th launch date for the devices, so customers can expect to receive their luxury Galaxy S6 models in early May. This isn’t the first time that a Samsung flagship has received the Goldgenie approach: the Galaxy S5 received a 24k Gold embellishment finish (over the polycarbonate finish) and we’ve seen the Samsung Galaxy Alpha receiving the premium finish too.

However, the 24k finish will come at something of a price as they’re showing as starting from £1,664 plus VAT, which gives the device a street price of approximately £2,000. Around the world, this means $2,950 or €2,800. Presumably to ensure that those customers only preorder with the intention of buying the device, Goldgenie quaintly “invites” customers to leave a deposit of half the value of the device. The preorder window will close on the 7th of April, a few days before the normal Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are expected to arrive. As for the normal Galaxy S6 price… we’re expecting it to be an expensive phone; most normal people would probably not want to be walking around with a $3,000 cell ‘phone loose in their pocket, and let’s not consider the implications of a case… When the new premium Galaxy S6 arrives, it will be presented in a luxury cherry oak case.

Google Celebrates St. Patrick's Day With A Few Hangouts Easter Eggs

Hangouts-Thumb

In what is becoming a tradition of sorts, Google is not letting an American holiday go by without a corresponding Hangouts Easter egg. When messages contain certain trigger words, users are greeted with corresponding animations to add a little spice to the conversation. Since their debut, we've seen the animated emoji people bring in the new year and celebrate Valentine's Day. Add St. Patrick's Day to the list! I've spotted three different versions so far.
