Toshiba Chromebook 2 available through Amazon, pricing starts at $249
In the market for a new laptop? We should mention giving a Chromebook a look. In the next several months leading up to the holiday season, there are going to be an abundance of Chrome OS devices released. The Chromebook 2, from Toshiba, is currently available through Amazon.
There are two models and both feature a 13.3-inch display. The base model’s display has a resolution of 1366×768 while upgrading raises this to 1920×1080. Regardless of model, you get an Intel Celeron N2840 processor. The upgraded model takes the base 2GB of RAM up to 4GB. Battery life for the base model is estimated at eleven hours and the 1080p display of the more expensive Chromebook 2 lowers it to about nine hours.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha arrives in India for $653
The Galaxy Alpha is beginning to make its way to additional markets. At launch, the United Kingdom was the only place where the metal device was easily found. Now, the Galaxy Alpha is available in India for INR 39,990 (or about $653). It can be found online or in retail stores. Samsung is partnering with Indian carrier Airtel to include a promotion with 50GB of 4G LTE data over two months.
According to Samsung, the Galaxy Alpha is the first of many devices to come to India that will have a 4G LTE connection.

Facebook launches a photo logging feature similar to Google+ Stories
Facebook is rolling out a feature that will be very familiar to Google+ users. The social network has launched a feature that takes photos from trips and logs them into a beautiful slideshow. It tracks a user’s journey from place to place. On the Google side of things, this is called Stories. Photos and captions cannot be edited, but Facebook will allow changes to be made to titles and locations.
The feature is apparently in beta as users utilizing have not been able to share the slideshow. Instead, it is only for their own personal viewing pleasure. Facebook has been struggling to craft new ideas, and what we have here is nothing surprising. At least it will give the company something to boast about.

When you run into a bad guy, you must swipe through the Bejeweled-style puzzle below to use items, attack, defend, or heal. You keep going until you die and then you get bounced back to your castle. You must then use the resources gained to upgrade yourself and rebuild your castle. There is no free version but what you see is pretty much what you get so there isn’t much that you’re missing. It’s highly rated and a lot of fun.

Love it or hate it, Angry Birds is among the most successful puzzle games of all time. The puzzle is you must figure out how to knock down structures and kill all the pigs with the limited number of birds that you have. Cut the Rope is a very popular puzzle game where you must cut ropes to drop the candy into the mouth of an adorable little monster. The game play is easy to understand but getting through levels can be difficult once you really get into it. There are several Cut the Rope titles available with prices ranging from free to $1.99. Some of them also have in app purchases. It’s a fun little game, it’s great for kids and adults, and it won’t break the bank. Also, cute monsters are awesome.

Duet is a brain-teaser puzzle game where you must spin two orbs around to avoid obstacles. It sounds easy but there are points where you won’t understand how your brain knows to do what it’s supposed to do and that’s all part of the fun. The game graphics are minimalist but elegant and the music is extremely well done. The core game is totally free but you can get things like daily challenges, various other challenges, and other content (along with ad removal) if you fork over the $3.00.
Hitman GO

Hitman GO is a title out of Square Enix that every Hitman fan will probably enjoy. The game features unique diorama-style graphics that look high quality and present the game well. You navigate your little figurine along a grid path to either avoid enemies or kill them all. You can complete each level in various ways which adds to the challenge and the developers have added levels as recently as two months ago (at the time of this writing). It’s something a little bit different, it’s a lot of fun, and it sports an impressive 4.6 rating in the Google Play Store.
Monument Valley

Monument Valley is a geometric puzzle game where you must move your character (the Princess) along a path to reach the end. The twist is that each level is carefully crafted to shift, spin, move, and otherwise re-shape itself using optical illusions and clever graphics. It’s not the longest game but there are definitely parts of it that are mind blowing. It has a high rating in the Play Store, stellar reviews from everywhere, and it really is a lot of fun to play. It’s $3.99 well spent.
Strata

Strata is a sophisticated puzzle game with minimal graphics and a fun premise. You use strategically placed ribbons to create color patterns and that’s how you progress. There are hundreds of grids, a musical element (this game is best played with headphones), and the last update introduced Google Play Games cloud saving so you can move between devices. Some have lamented that it’s too easy but even the people who complain about this game give it a positive rating and Strata currently rocks a 4.6 in the Google Play Store.
Super Hexagon

Super Hexagon is an incredibly complicate and difficult puzzle game. It contains minimalist graphics and a techno sound track as you try to maneuver your way to victory. Here is how it works. You have a hexagon in the center with an arrow. You must spin that arrow around the hexagon to avoid the walls that are collapsing down upon you. It’s very challenging and sometimes even disorienting but even that is part of the challenge. It has received high marks in its reviews and more recent reviews have added Google Play Games services. There are also no in app purchases.
The Room 1 and 2
[Price: $0.99 and $2.99 respectively]
The Room and The Room 2 are easily the best looking games on this list. The graphics are sharp and phenomenal and it’s pretty evident that someone put a lot of effort into creating them. In The Room and The Room 2, you must navigate through intricately placed puzzles to make your way to the end. It’s part optical illusion and part hidden objects which makes the game even more fun. To give you a concept of just how good these games are, the first version has a 4.8 rating in the Play Store. The second version has a near-impossible 4.9 rating even after 100,000 downloads. We recommend you pick up one of them and if you like it (statistics say that you will), we recommend you pick up the other one too!
Threes!

Threes! is a puzzle game where you must match numbered tiles to create new numbered tiles and then match those numbered tiles to other numbered tiles. It’s like this. You move a three tile onto another three tile and you create a six tile. You must then combine that with another six tile to get a 12 tile. This continues until you run out of space and the game ends. It’s highly addictive and has seen massively popularity and success on Android and iOS. There is also a very popular clone of this app called 2048 which is essentially the same thing but with multiples of two instead of three and another somewhat successful clone called Fives.
Where’s My Water 1 and 2

Where’s My Water is a game made by Disney and is a sibling of a number of other “Where’s My” games including Where’s My Mickey and Where’s My Perry. All of the games have the same premise. You must dig a path through a level and let the water flow to its objective. It’s physics-based so you’ll need to take things like gravity into account. Where’s My Water 2 as well as the Mickey and Perry variants are free with in app purchases while the original Where’s My Water is $1.99 with in app purchases. You can’t go wrong with any of them. They’re pretty fun games, great for kids and adults, and they are something a little bit different.
World of Goo

World of Goo is a fun little puzzle game where you must use your pieces of goo to build your way to the next level. You win if you can make it to the end without running out of little goo pieces and you get the full score for the level if you can do it in only a certain number of goo pieces. It’s $4.99 but there are no in app purchases. The game features colorful graphics and has received high marks from most reviewers (including us).
