I haven’t used a boom box in years, but I am starting to get the itch after seeing Avy, a new boom box from Zettaly, inc. It features 10-watt speakers along with a 7-inch (1024 x 600) touchscreen and WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. And of course, it’s powered by Android with the Google Play Store, so what’s not to love about it?
Users can stream music directly over Wi-Fi from Pandora, Spotify or other apps that are available in Google Play via Wifi. You can also stream music via Bluetooth connectivity. The other cool thing is that you can even watch videos from YouTube on it or make Skype video calls.
Avy will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop and is powered by a 1.0 GHz quad-core ARM, has 1 GB of RAM, 8 or 32 GB of onboard storage, microSD for expanded storage, and a 14.8Wh rechargeable battery.
Avy is on Kickstarter, but it will release regardless of how many orders the campaign grabs. However, if you do want to get in on it through the campain, you can get it for as low as $99. It will become available in May for $169 for everyone else.
