Deal: Samsung Fast Charging Car Chargers just $12.99

Most of you probably have a Turbo Charger or two laying around your house, thanks to a handful of decent deals on them over the past year. But do any of you have a fast charger for your car? If not, you can pick-up a brand new, Samsung Fast Charging Car Charger for just $12.99 over at Groupon (USB cable included).

Groupon is claiming that you are receiving some massive 68% discount, but that’s kind of a lie. These chargers can be had at Amazon from around $15 with a USB cable. Still, saving a couple of bucks on an already-cheap fast charger for your car isn’t something to complain about.

Like with the fast wall chargers, you can grab up to 50% charge in just 30 minutes time.

DL Show Episode 90 Happened This Week, Your Week Isn’t Complete Without It

Earlier in the week, Tim, Ron and I all sat down for what turned into episode 90 of the Droid Life Show. It was as good of a time as ever, with topics ranging from all of our thoughts on the Galaxy Note 5 and its S Pen controversy, to why HTC is making an iPhone 6 clone.

We also ran through topics like the new Gear S2, Moto 360 (2nd gen) that has been seen, our images of the DROID MAXX 2, the big Huawei Nexus leak, and why everyone is so confusingly excited about this Blackberry slider phone that runs Android.

You will find both audio and video replays of the show past the break. If you miss us live, feel free to subscribe to us by following one of the links below.

Material Design Makes Everything Look Better, Even Mobile Ads

Every now and then, depending on what apps and games you use, you likely see fullscreen advertisements inside an application from time to time. Usually, they look really bad, and can sometimes be annoying. That’s just the nature of ads. However, thanks to Material Design, apps that use fullscreen ads from the AdMob Network (which is quite a few), should see a big makeover.

At the top of the header image above, the way fullscreen ads appear as they are today is shown on the left. With the update, ads will appear like the one shown on the right side. It features a floating action button which acts as an “Install” shortcut, and the overall layout is much cleaner and less intrusive.

In addition, the new ads will color match accordingly to an app’s icon and banner image, offering a pleasing aesthetic for viewers. Sure, ads are no fun, but at least Material Design can make them look a bit better for us mobile users.

Again, depending on which apps you use, prepare to see these new fullscreen ads rollout soon as developers work to implement them.

Vanishing Moto 360 Inventory Can Mean Only One Thing

We must be getting real close to the next Moto 360 from Motorola, as evidenced by the abrupt disappearance of last year’s model on Motorola’s website. The device has been removed from Moto Maker, and it doesn’t appear to be buyable anywhere through Motorola’s website.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Motorola intends to announce the next Moto 360 at this year’s IFA, alongside other manufacturers in Berlin. Not only that, but the smartwatch has been pictured on wrists in the city of Chicago, as well as overseas, lending credit to the belief that we should see the updated wearable announced next week.

It appears there is a bit of inventory left on Amazon if grabbing a first-generation model is something you would like to do. However, we would recommend waiting to at least see what Motorola plans on offering this year, and for how much.

Next week should be a big one for Android Wear fans.

Facebook Rolls Out Photo Editing Tools to Official App, Desktop

People seem to love decking their photos out with funny text and stickers, so now, Facebook is allowing you to get in on the fun through the official Facebook app and on the desktop.

When you have a photo in your library, or are about to upload, the app allows you to “edit” the photo, which means you can apply custom text and silly stickers to the photo. Facebook states this is a suite of tools, so it’s possible the company has additional tools besides stickers and text.

In order to use these tools, you will need the latest version of the Facebook app from Google Play.

Vine Makes it Easy to Add Music to Your Clips, Create Perfect Loops

Vine, the social media platform that allows you to post six second clips, is receiving an update to bring an easier process for adding music. To start, Vine is introducing Snap to Beat. With this feature, under the details page, Vine can help you create a “perfect loop” or “seamless loop,” which is a loop featuring music where the listener/watcher can’t tell the beginning from the end. Until now, only those are who obsessed with creating perfect Vines were able to produce this.

Also included in the update is the ability to add Featured Tracks to a Vine. With this, users can browse tracks from an assorted library of music, giving you control over what music is inside your vine. The plan is to make your Vine sound better than it would if the music is played through the device’s microphone. From what we can see, tracks are available from many artists, such as Drake, Beck, David Bowie, and many more.

Included with the addition of adding music, users can now find out what song they are listening to while viewing other Vines. When you see a music note on a Vine, simply tap it, and Vine will show you the song information.

The update is rolling out to Google Play now, so keep your eyes peeled if you still use Vine.

App Listings in Google Search Receive a Makeover

Google Search results are very important for many people. On mobile phones, they are becoming smarter, and now, prettier. The latest search results landing page to receive a makeover are app listings, a feature that has been inside search results for quite some time. Now, thanks to a server-side change at Google, any apps that are listed inside of a search result will be colored, giving a more tasteful aesthetic when browsing through categories of applications found on Google Play.

To see this, all you need to do is search by a category of apps. For example, you can search for cooking apps, music apps, Twitter apps, or any other category. Google will then return the results, leaving you with a colorful page full of options for you to sift through.

As stated, this is a server side change, so no updated Google application is required on your smart device. It should just magically appear.

Go try it for yourself right now.

Huawei Watch Pre-Order Hits Amazon, Priced From $349 to $799

The Huawei Watch, previously reported to go official next week during IFA, is now up for pre-order on Amazon. According to the listing, there are four models — Black/Black, Gold/Brown, Gold/Gold, and Stainless Steel/Black — priced rather high when compared to other Android Wear devices on the market.

To start, the “cheapest” model is the Stainless Steel/Black, featuring a steel-colored case and black leather band. This device is priced at $350. The most expensive, referred to as the Gold/Gold option, is listed at $799. Yup, that’s some serious dough.

Sadly, Amazon’s listing does not detail specifications for the smartwatch in depth. However, a couple small things are disclosed, such as a 1.4″ full-circle AMOLED display (400 x 400) with scratch resistant sapphire glass and stainless steel body, and even “iOS 8.2 or Android 4.3” compatibility. Does this mean Android Wear will soon support iOS, or did Huawei find a way? We shall see.

It’s entirely possible that someone jumped the gun, and this pre-order should not be live until the device is announced at IFA next week. So, if you were planning on purchasing a Huawei Watch, you may want to do so quickly.

Any thoughts on the pricing? Too expensive? Just right for a tasteful timepiece?
