LG G Flex 2 Specs

The LG G Flex was a rather interesting phone when the company launched it back in October 2013. This device was odd and innovative at the time and it mostly left good impression on people. Many consumers eagerly awaited the launch of its successor and believed that LG will launch it at the end of 2014, but that didn’t happen. The company did just launch the device, we’ve already covered that part, but we’re here to take a closer look at the device’s specs. Let’s see what this handset has to offer, shall we.

Let’s start from its general footprint and design, this handset is smaller than the original G Flex in almost every way. The handset is shorter and narrower than the original G Flex, it is also thinner in certain areas, but thicker in other parts, depending on which part of the device you’re looking at. The G Flex 2 measures 149.1 x 75.3 x 7.1-9.4mm and it weighs 152 grams, which also makes it lighter than the original G Flex. The original G Flex measures 160.5 x 81.6 x 8.7mm and weighs 177 grams, for comparison’s sake. This handset sports a similar curve to the original G Flex, as well as the self-healing back which was taken from its predecessor and which will hopefully help with all sorts of scratches left on the back of this device.

LG G Flex 2 features a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080, 403 ppi) curved P-OLED display along with 2GB of DDR4 RAM and 16 or 32GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 2TB). This handset is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 810 octa-core SoC clocked at 2.0GHz which comes with an Adreno 430 GPU which will take care of graphics rendering. 13-megapixel camera is located on the back of this device and it offer OIS+ functionality as well as Laser Auto Focus, which is essentially the same rear-camera package we’ve seen in the LG G3. 2.1-megapixel snapper is available on the front of this handset for those of you who like to take selfies and use the video call option on your devices. 3,000mAh embedded battery is also a part of the package.

As far as connectivity goes, this handset supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and 4G LTE and HSPA+ (21/42 Mbps) in the internet connectivity department. Bluetooth Smart Ready (Apt-X) 4.1, NFC, SlimPort, A-GPS / Glonass and USB 2.0 are also available here. Let’s move on to software. The LG G Flex 2 ships with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed and LG’s UI on top of it, of course. LG’s suite brings forth a bunch of software features, like Gesture Shot, Gesture View and Glance View. Gesture Shot lets you take a selfie with a hand gesture, you can be as far as 1.5 meters away from the device in order to make this thing work. Gesture View is a quick way to check your last taken photo immediately after it was taken and the Glance View gives you important information when you need it. This option lets you see your recent messages or missed calls if you swipe down on the screen when the display is off.

Another thing worth mentioning here is the Fast Charge capability which is available with this device thanks to the Snapdragon 810 processor. This feature lets you charge the 3,000mAh unit inside this device up to 50% in under 40 minutes, presuming you’re charging it from 0% of course. This handset will initially be available in Platinum Silver and Flamenco Red color options, in case you were wondering. We still don’t have any concrete information as far as pricing goes (at the time of writing this article).
