The OnePlus One is receiving another OTA today - one I'm probably more excited about than any other OTA the company has released so far. Mostly because unlocking the phone and using apps has deteriorated into a constant battle with an unresponsive and very moody touchscreen. Supposedly, this update should resolve this pretty major flaw, along with a few other things which I've detailed below, including the poor battery life we covered recently.

Google is rolling out an update to Google Glass this week that includes some improvements to the way users access their contacts. The update, version number XE20.1, incorporates these changes based on user feedback indicating they wanted a better, easier way to access and contact the people in their address books.
The first change Glass users may notice is that they now have access to all of the contacts in their Google account. The current list of contacts that users have in their MyGlass app will be starred in Google Contacts, making them accessible via voice command on Glass. These can be edited using the People app on a smartphone. Non-starred contacts can be accessed through use of the touch pad.
Once a contact is accessed, users will find they have some new options. They can choose to reach out to the contact via email, SMS or through Hangouts. Like other devices, the contacts accessible through Glass will be updated whenever a user updates them via any device.
Along with the changes to contacts, Google has added a few other minor changes. Users can now delete a picture they have taken using voice commands. Google also made some new Google Now cards available including a currency converter and some nearby events cards. Google also makes it possible to turn off the “head nudge” feature, which normally gives users the ability to turn Glass on based on a head movement.
Glass owners can get the update by plugging their charger in and making sure they are connected to WiFi.

Sprint has just launched a new plan for single line users to get a precious unlimited data package. $60 will get you unlimited talk, text, and data for a month, which is a full $20 cheaper a month than T-Mobile. AT&T and Verizon will give you 1 GB for $80/ mo, so they are hardly comparable to this new Sprint we’ve been seeing lately. In order to be eligible for this discount, however, you must have a device that’s compatible with the network, purchase one at full price prior to starting the plan, or use Sprint’s monthly payment and upgrade plan.
Whether or not these new moves will save Sprint from what looks like impending doom remains to be seen. Do you plan on making the switch for this deal? Do you already have Sprint? How satisfied are you? Let us know in the comment section below!

In 2 weeks we will see the Moto X-1 in real life, but this just might be the next best thing. Thanks to a little retirement gift from @evleaks, we have the press images of the wooden and leather versions of the phone.
The first thing you might have noticed is the Verizon logo signifying their version. Other than the logo, we don’t expect there to be any differences between the carrier versions. As far as hardware goes, the front of the device shows what could be front-facing stereo speakers. However, since the top one appears to be bigger, I am not convinced just yet. The power and volume rocker appears to be lower on the right side, probably because of the larger footprint.
Going to the back of the device, the camera lens is definitely different with the extra ring around it. It also appears that there might be a dual flash setup with one at each side of the ring. The Motorola logo looks like a separate plate instead of the dimpled engraving we saw with the Moto X.
Lastly, you will notice the date on the display of each device is September 17, which could indicate the release date for at least Verizon.
So what do you guys think? Are you excited for the Moto X+1 or is the Moto 360 going to take the spotlight?

For a limited time, you can grab Hitman GO for $2 this weekend only. Normally priced at $5, the well received strategy game can be yours to keep forever for 60% off. The game centers around, who else, but everyone’s favorite hit man — Agent 47 — as you guide a tiny toy version of him through levels filled with obstacles and enemies at every turn. Given this is a stealth-based puzzler, you’ll need to avoid detection if you hope to infiltrate locations and assassinate your targets.
While $5 was more than reasonable for what was being offered, $2 is almost an impulse buy. We have to say, we love the style the developers went with when bringing this to mobile. Somehow it just fits. You can find links to Hitman GO in the Play Store down below. It’s time to get your Android gaming on.
Tower Defense games are a classic past time for games on Android. They have been around since the dawn of the Android OS and they’re sticking around for good and seem to be just as popular as they have ever been. There are many different TD games with tons of different themes and even some with different genre elements mixed in, and this TD game from Codigames called Empires of Sand takes things to Egypt to have you take control as the Pharaoh to ward off the evil god Seth and protect Egypt from plunging into certain ruin and destruction. If you have always fancied yourself as the supreme ruler of the Egyptian world, Empires of Sand places you in a role that you’re destined to shine in, or fail miserably if you suck at games. The good news is that you can practice. Practice young grasshopper.
Empires of Sand is not your traditional TD game like other smash TD hits such as Sentinel 3: Homeworld, it’s more of a strategy game that is a TD and resource management mashup that has you building up your defenses, gathering resources, and amassing your troops to fight Seth. Empires of Sand has four different game modes, including Empire Management, City Defense, PvP, and the campaign mode which takes you through the story. Since there’s PvP involved, you’ll be playing in real-time against other players. Should you make any rivals, you can send off your troops to decimate them while you defend your base from any would be attackers.
You can research upgrades so that you can make your defenses and other buildings stronger, something that you’ll inevitably need later on in the game when you reach a higher level. Empires of Sand requires Android devices that are running Android 4.0 or later, which is most devices these days, and Google Play Games services and support is included so that means leader boards and achievements, and most likely cloud save capabilities, or so we hope. The graphics are sort of cartoony but extremely high res so things look great, you can also chat with friends who play the game in your area and connect up with them to play the game together or challenge each other in a battle for the ages. Empires of Sand is free and includes IAPs for those who choose to utilize them. The game also supports multiple languages, with English, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, and German.

Motorola is believed to be unveiling some new devices on the fourth, and quite ironically, the number will be four devices as they have teased in an image just last week. One of those new devices is believed to be the new Moto X(or MotoX+1)alongside the new Moto G, and the Android Wear smartwatch from the company, the much anticipated Moto 360. There is also potentially going to be an unveiling of a new headset, but lets be honest that’s hardly as exciting as the other three. When it comes to the new Moto X we have seen some previous leaks of the device(or so we have been led to believe was the device, they are leaks after all so how can we be sure)but none that had really show anything definitive. Motorola has been good about keeping their new device from leaking thus far, until today it would seem.
Thanks to evleaks we have a press render image of the new Moto X for Verizon, which as expected doesn’t look that much different from the original Moto X from 2013, but you can tell some differences are there. From the press shot, things definitely look a bit wider than the last Moto X, and the camera on the back seems to be bigger as well. It would also appear that the new Moto X has dual front facing speakers, which should make plenty of people happy, a feature that has been fairly popular since HTC’s flagship One device from last year, but also found on the low cost Moto E.
As expected Motorola looks to be providing Moto Maker options for the new device as well, and pictured here we can see the all black model, and a white model device that comes with a wood grain back. We all know how you love the wood. There are some elements to the image that remain unexplained. There seems to be multiple new sensors on the front which you can see on the bottom of the white model’s front face, and the logo on the back almost looks like a button that may serve some functional purpose. The 3.5mm audio port is on top just like before, and since this is Verizon it wouldn’t be complete without the logo stamp which can be seen clearly on the back of the device. Unfortunately we don’t have any specs, but the screen does look like a bigger size than last year’s Moto X, so could it actually be 5.2-inches? We must say, this is one heck of a retirement gift from some who has been a consistent leaker over the last couple of years, thank you kindly Evan.
The post Press Render Of The Brand New Moto X Leaks ‘Moto X+1′ appeared first on AndroidHeadlines.com |.
There it is, folks. In all its glory. With the official unveiling no more than 2 short weeks away, it appears @evleaks may have gotten his hands on a few unofficially official press renders of the device. If there was any doubt, the Verizon branding on the back seems to confirm one of the places the device will be headed, although we’ll keep our fingers crossed they wont have too long of an exclusive (if any at all).
The renders confirm what we’ve seen leaked in the past, showing Motorola’s familiar front facing speaker set up and what appears to be 2 LEDs around the camera. The black model looks pretty standard, with the white variant showing what appears to be an aluminum frame and bamboo wood backing. We’re not sure if this will come standard on white models, but we wont have much longer to find out. Motorola’s official press event is currently scheduled for Tuesday, Sept 4th.
Phandroid will be reporting live from the event, so mark your calendars.
Namco has released Pac-Man Friends onto the Play Store, which is a brand new Pac-Man games with new, fast-paced gameplay. It keeps all of the original cast of characters, including Pac-Man and the group of ghosts from the arcade games.
The game involves you moving Pac-Man through different types of mazes all while avoiding the ghosts. Instead of the traditional square mazes, though, these new mazes comes in different shapes and sizes with tons of obstacles to maneuver around. The flashing power pellets make a return, and they’ll still let you eat up ghosts that get in Pac-Man’s way.
All in all, there are 95 levels and 8 different friends to unlock, each of which gives Pac-Man a unique power up to clear levels. Throw in 5 different control schemes and daily rewards, and you’ve got plenty of content to keep you busy for a while.
The game does offer in-app purchases, so even Pac-Man isn’t immune to modern mobile game design, but it still looks like a pretty fun download. Hit the link below for the app and to check out some screenshots of the game.
