It was a big day for Meizu yesterday. This China-based smartphone manufacturer has held an event in Beijing and has announced a bunch of smart gadgets along with a smartphone that stole the spotlight at the event, the Meizu M1. This handset has rumored for a long time and the company finally launched it for an incredible price of 699 Yuan ($110). It’s hard to beat that pricing, and this is definitely Meizu’s way to compete with Xiaomi and their Redmi 2 handset which was launched earlier this month.
That being said, we’ve already covered the launch of the handset itself at length, but new content keeps on coming. The first unboxing of the M1 has surfaced in China and it seems appropriate to cover that as well. If you take a look at the gallery down below you’ll see a bunch of unboxing images which will definitely give you an even better look at the device, considering all we had thus far were press images of all sorts. This handset looks basically identical to the Meizu M1 Note, but it is smaller and its internals are significantly different than those of its bigger brother.
Meizu M1 features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 768) display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 128GB). This thing is powered by MediaTek’s MT6732 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and it ships with a 2,610mAh battery on the inside. 13-megapixel snapper is located on the back of this thing along with an LED flash, and a 5-megapixel shooter is available up front for all your selfie and video call needs. The M1 comes with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed and Flyme 4.2 UI on top of it, the newest version of Meizu’s very own Android skin.
This thing comes with 4G LTE support (Chinese bands) and will be available in White, Blue, Yellow, Green, Pink-Purple and Turquoise color options. Meizu M1 pre-orders will kick off on February 5 in China. The unboxing images are down below, as I already mentioned, make sure to let us know if you intend to purchase one of these smartphones.
