Samsung Has Filed Trademarks For The Galaxy A6, Galaxy A8 And Galaxy A9

Now that the Mobile World Congress (MWC) is behind us, and Samsung has put an end to the endless Galaxy S6 rumors by releasing both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, it’s time to focus on other news. Like the one that arrived today, and is Samsung related. The company has recently filed trademarks for the Galaxy A6, Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A9 with the USPTO. These three devices will expand Samsung’s “A” line of smartphones. Speaking of which, let’s talk about that for a second.

Samsung has announced the Galaxy Alpha back in August 2014, that was the company’s first smartphone to combine metal with Samsung’s usual plastic (polycarbonate) materials. Samsung Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 followed the Galaxy Alpha, and it seems like Samsung intends to push that line of devices even further by releasing the aforementioned devices as well. Taking the A3, A5 and A7 into consideration, the upcoming A9 handset will be the most powerful out of the bunch, while the A6 and A8 will be somewhere in between A5 and A9 as far as specs go. Keep in mind that this is Samsung’s mid-range line of smartphones, so don’t expect top-of-the-line specifications or anything of the sort.

It is still unknown when will the company release these handsets though, they might wait for quite some time now and release them as successors to the A3, A5 and A7, or we might see them launched sooner than that. Stay tuned either way, we’ll hear more about this soon quite probably, benchmark leaks will quite probably surface in the coming weeks. Samsung has switched to all-metal build as far as their flagship Galaxy S line goes, it remains to be seen what will happen with the Galaxy Note line, in other words will Samsung decide to manufacture an all-metal Galaxy Note 5 or not.

That being said, let us know what you think of Samsung’s Galaxy A line in the comments. Do you own the Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy A3, A5 or A7 device? Share your thoughts with us in the comments, we’d love to hear from you, as usual.
