Additional Xiaomi Mi 4i Info Leaks, The Device Might Feature A 5″ 1080p Display And A 13MP Camera

Xiaomi has already launched quite a few new devices in 2015, but the company doesn’t show any signs of stopping now. This China-based smartphone OEM has already teased two new announcements on April 15 and April 23. The Xiaomi Mi 4i has already surfaced yesterday in Singapore’s IDA database and Geekbench website. That information said that this device will be a lower-end version of the Xiaomi Mi 4, and that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 615 SoC and sport 2GB of RAM. This device is expected to be released on April 23, and we have some new information to share with you.

Last month, a mysterious Xiaomi “Ferrari” handset popped up on GFXBench website, and according to new info from China, this is the Xiaomi Mi 4i that we’ve talked about yesterday. It makes sense because both of those devices are said to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processors and sport 2GB of RAM. In addition to all that, this device is expected to feature a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, quite probably the same panel that was used in the original Mi 4. The device will ship with 16GB of internal storage and a 13-megapixel camera on the back. LED flash was also mentioned in the GFXBench listing, along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Android 5.0.2 Lollipop will come pre-installed on this device with Xiaomi’s MIUI on top of Google’s operating system. 4G LTE connectivity is also expected here, and a dual SIM connectivity is also a possibility, but we’ll see. As you can see, we’re looking at a mid-range offering by Xiaomi here, as expected.

According to yesterday’s information, this handset will launch in India first. As far as the design goes, this handset might look identical to Xiaomi Mi 4, though we can’t confirm that just yet. We still don’t know the price of this device either, but it’s expected to cost less than 1,500 Yuan ($241). This announcement is less than 10 days away, but we’ll probably get some additional leaks to share with you before Xiaomi actually announces this handset, so stay tuned for that.
