Back towards the end of January, ZTE announced the release of a new smartphone. This was the ZTE Blade S6. The Blade S6 was a 4G LTE supported dual-SIM device and came with some decent specs including a 5-inch IPS display, 2GB RAM and powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor. As well as coming equipped with 16GB internal storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing option. Everything was powered by a 2,400mAh battery and running on Android 5.0.
Well, following on from the announced Blade S6, at this year’s MWC event in March, the company also announced another version of the device in the form of the ZTE Blade S6 Plus. As would be expected with a “Plus” tag, this version ventures into the phablet realm of devices and comes with an increased 5.5-inch sized HD display. That apart, the rest of the specs are pretty much in line with the standard Blade S6 including the use of the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor as well as also running on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) laden with with ZTE’s MiFavor 3.0 UI. Although, due to the bigger display, there is also a larger power source in the form of a 3000mAh battery. Not to mention, that although the specs are relatively the same, ZTE do comment that the Blade S6 Plus does come with some device-unique features include the ability for the device to double as an IR remote control.
Following on from the S6 Plus March unveiling, today ZTE have announced the availability of the device in Europe and Brazil. From today, the device will be available in a number of European countries (as well as Brazil) and exclusively on eBay. The Blade S6 Plus comes with a slightly increased price compared to the standard Blade S6 and will cost users $300.
