Huawei P8 is one of the most talked-about devices in the last couple of months. This handset has been rumored numerous times in 2015, and we’ve seen all sorts of leaked regarding it. The Huawei P8 will be the company’s new flagship, and a direct successor to the Ascend P7 which launched back in May 2014. The Huawei P8 will launch on April 15th in London, this China-based smartphone manufacturer has already officially announced the event. That being said, the Huawei P8 was also certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) a couple of days ago, and thus revealed its specifications. We’ll talk more about that a bit later though.

The company didn’t even announce the P8 just yet, and rumors regarding a special edition of this handset have already started coming our way. As you might recall, the company did announce a Sapphire Edition of the Ascend P7 handset last year, and it seems like they will do the same with this year’s P-series handset. According to the new rumor which came from China, this version of P8 will be called “Huawei P8 Platinum Edition”. According to the available information, this device will sport a sapphire glass panel on both its front and back side, and gold (we assume color) has also been mentioned. This device will also probably be made out of zirconia ceramic, as far as build materials go. The rumor also says that this handset will cost 5,000 Yuan and also launch on April 15th, along with the standard Huawei P8.

The leak did not mention anything about the specifications of this handset, but judging by last year’s model, the Huawei P8 Premium Edition will quite probably sport the same specifications as the regular P8. That being said, the Huawei P8 will feature a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The TENAA listing revealed that it will be powered by the company’s very own HiSilicion Kirin 930 64-bit octa-core processor, even though the latest rumor claimed that the Kirin 935 will be powering on the company’s newest flagship. The 13-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this device and flanked by a dual-LED flash. Android 5.0 Lollipop will come pre-installed with Huawei’s Emotion UI on top of Google’s OS. The fingerprint scanner is also a possibility, but that’s only a rumor at this point.
