YouTube quietly adds Notifications page to Android app

YouTube-app

YouTube has silently given its Android app a neat feature. The mobile experience now includes what seems like a Notifications page or tab that can be accessed from the left slide-out drawer.

These used to be a mundane stream of Android notifications one would usually ignore throughout the day.

This will prove to be a very convenient tool to those who take advantage of YouTube notifications. These used to be a mundane stream of Android notifications one would usually ignore throughout the day. It’s hard to find the time to watch your favorite videos as soon as they are uploaded.

These messages would, of course, be dismissed. When time came to watch the new videos, we would have to search through a crowded list of clips in the subscriptions list. The same Android notification will continue to appear, but with this update users can now quickly access a section where those dismissed videos are aggregated.

The new feature is quite simple. Just slide from left to right to pull out the side bar. You should see a new section that says “Notifications”. Tap on it and you will see a simple list with your latest favorite videos. You can then easily tap on the 3-dot menu button and change notification options.

Changes have already occurred in my YouTube app, but various users claim they have not see this Notifications section. It’s possible the feature is slowly rolling out, so be patient if you don’t see the new feature yet.
