Sony Xperia Z3 may be on its way to Verizon

Yesterday after Sony officially unveiled their new Sony Xperia Z3 smartphone, T-Mobile indicated they would carry the device in the U.S. market. It appeared that they may be the only carrier to offer the Sony device in their portfolio. According to documents obtained by PCMag.com, the device may be headed to Verizon as well. The documents indicate the name of a forthcoming device for Verizon is the Z3v, possibly an attempt to not make the pending addition to Verizon’s lineup so noticeable. However, PCMag.com reports the documents they received show a Verizon logo on the back of an Xperia Z3 device. There are also references to support for NFC, wireless charging, 32GB of storage, 3GB of RAM and a microSD slot. A screen shot shows Amazon Music, the Amazon AppStore and the Amazon Kindle app all loaded on the device.

If Verizon does pick up the Xperia Z3 for their portfolio, it will be the first time they have had a Sony device available for consumers since 2011 when they carried the Sony Xperia Play. At this time, Verizon has not responded to requests for comment or confirmed they will get the Xperia Z3.
