Continuing their trend to lead the way in the wireless industry with an attack on plans using low prices and competitive, enticing offerings, T-mobile is getting ready to launch some new Pay-As-You-Go plans later on this month. They will be introducing these plans beginning August 17th, which just so happens to be Sunday. So we’re just about one week out, which is great news for anyone that was looking for a more affordable way to get some prepaid wireless service from their carrier. The Pay-As-You-Go plans will be taking a flat rate approach to the pricing that it will cost for subscribers to use text messages and voice calls, costing consumers only $0.10 per minute or $0.10 per text message sent from their mobile device.

This is going to be a new industry low for comparable offerings from other carriers, and does well to illustrate how T-Mobile was able to overtake all other carriers as the number one in prepaid wireless service plans and offerings. The new plan, while a great value, doesn’t come without its regulations however, subscribers wishing to use this plan will be required to set a minimum of $3 of usage per month, but quite honestly that’s not bad if you’re someone who really only uses your phone for messages and calls, and sparsely at that. This is also not a plan that you should consider if you’re going to be messaging a lot and want the included option of unlimited 4G data connectivity for a smartphone.

If you don’t need unlimited data and just want the capability to use a little bit, that’s where the new 4G LTE data passes can come in handy. For anyone on a prepaid plan that isn’t already using data via the network, like presumably the new ones listed above that will be reaching customers next week, you can purchase one of two new set passes for access to 4G LTE data starting with the daily pass which is just $5 and gives you 500MB of data usage. If you’re only planning on using data a little bit throughout the month that’s a great option. If you plan on using data more often though, you can purchase the weekly pass which is just $5 more for a total of $10, and for double the cost you also get double the amount of data usage, bringing you up to 1GB for the week. These new flat rates are sure to win over plenty of customers and may help T-Mobile gain new prepaid subscribers.
