Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is making it’s way to the Now Network this week. It’ll be available from Sprint beginning August 15th. The normal price of the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 will be $0 down and $12.50/month for 24 months. But for a limited time you can put $0 down and pay $10/month for 24 months. It doesn’t seem like a big savings, but that’s $60 savings over the course of 2 years. So instead of paying $300 when all is said and done, you’ll be paying $240. Also note that you do need a service plan with this. Unlike T-Mobile, you don’t get a certain data allotment for free each month.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 features a 1280×800 resolution display, quad-core 1.2Ghz processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB or 16GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot. There’s also a 3MP camera on the back with a 1.3MP front-facing camera. It’s also running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat with the latest version of Touchwiz on board.
So this is definitely not a high-end tablet, as you can tell from the pricing of the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0. But it’s still a great tablet. We reviewed the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 earlier this year, and we were quite pleased with the device. It wasn’t blazing fast like the Xperia Z2 Tablet, or the Samsung Galaxy Tab S, but for the price, it’s not bad at all. And it’ll also have connectivity to Sprint’s Spark network, which is available in 24 markets and feature speeds of up to 60mbps. There’s no phone call capability here, so you won’t be able to use it as your phone – if you really wanted too.
It’s great to see Sprint beginning to pick up on the tablet trend. Especially after seeing T-Mobile and Verizon bring in a ton of new tablet add-ons in the last quarter. Verizon added about a million tablets and T-Mobile added around 300 thousand. How many of you are going to be picking up the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 from Sprint?
