The Google Nexus Player Is Now Available In The Play Store For $99.99, Ships In 3-4 Weeks

AH Nexus Player Controller

If you were enthralled by the idea of the Android TV developer units that were given out at Google I.O over the summer, you can now get a hold of your very own as the Nexus Player, just announced on the 15th, is now officially up for pre-order in the Play Store. You can place orders for the Android TV device now for just $99.99 and the units will begin shipping in about 3-4 weeks, so there’s still some time to wait before you’ll actually receive it, but at least you can place the order and be ready and waiting. The Nexus Player takes Google’s idea of Android in the living room to the next level, with easy and intuitive access to games, movies, TV, music, and more and feeds them all to you with control using a remote equipped with voice search, and a gamepad.

The Nexus Player “plays” nice with other devices too, so while you’ll have the ability to stream content to the big screen(just like with Chromecast), content is seamlessly synced across all your devices so you can begin a movie or TV show in the living room on the TV and then pause it, and carry on in bed via your tablet or smartphone if you want to drift off to a sweet slumber while you finish up. Also, again just like with Chromecast, you can stream content from most Chromebooks, Android and iOS devices to the Nexus Player.

As we stated above the Nexus Player with Android TV goes big with games, and the accompanying gamepad will be just what you need to play the best titles with traditional controls on a big screen for that true console quality effect and feeling. It also lets you hook up to four gamepads to the Nexus Player for awesome multiplayer gaming like never before on Android. The gamepad features everything you’d want in a controller, with a D-Pad, dual joysticks, a power, back, and home button, left and right trigger and bumper buttons, and of course your 4-button setup of A,B,X,Y. The Nexus Player itself features an Intel Atom Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.8GHz, an Imagination PowerVR series 6 GPU for graphics, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and consists of an HDMI out port, an AC power port, and a microUSB port. The Nexus Player and the Nexus gamepad are sold separately, and the total bundle will cost $140 if you want both. You can grab the Nexus Player for $99.99 by heading to this Play Store link, and the Gamepad for Nexus Player for $39.99 by heading to this Play Store link. Both devices ship within 3-4 weeks. Is any one ready to pick these up?
