China has a reputation of producing not so quality merchandise, same goes for tech products. Chinese products are often categorized this way, though lately we’re seeing that trend changing, even though people are still in that mindset. I actually talked to a bunch of people and most of them wouldn’t even consider getting a Chinese smartphone, just because it’s made by a Chinese manufacturer. Certain Chinese manufacturers have been doing a great job of providing quality smartphones and keeping the affordable prices attached to them. IUNI is a good example of such a company, IUNI has introduced their newest IUNI U3 flagship back in August and surprised many by doing that. This is a beast of a device and Chinese consumers can get it on a cheap, it is priced at only 2000 Yuan, which is a steal for such a device.
Chinese consumers were able to book a U3 copy for themselves starting October 9th and yesterday (October 16th) IUNI announced that every single unit they set aside is now booked and they’re currently not accepting any more orders for the device at this time. IUNI had some more news to show with us today though, it seems like a black version of IUNI U3 is on its way (only white one was available thus far). IUNI announced via Weibo (Chinese social network) that the black version of IUNI U3 will be available starting next Thursday (October 23rd) at 10am (local time). The device will be available for purchase via IUNI’s official website or Jingdong Mall, unfortunately only for Chinese consumers and it will be priced at 2000 Yuan, just like the white version.
IUNI U3 is sporting a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display by Sharp along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz is powering this thing and comes with Adreno 330 GPU. 13-megapixel camera (Sony’s sensor) can be found o the back of the device while there’s a 5-megapixel snapper located up front. 3000mAh is also included and the device comes with Android 4.4.4 OS out of the box with IUNI OS on top of it. This is a 4G LTE capable device and it’s rather sleek looking. Dual-SIM capability is also here and the device is built out of magnesium alloy and plastic.
