With so much Lollipop news going around you might have temporarily forgotten about the years other big news. Nope, not the Fappening but smartwatches. Yes, 2014 has certainly been the year of the watch and 2015 looks to be just as watch-filled as this year. It all started when Samsung and LG brought out their squarebie watches, the Samsung Gear Live and LG G Watch respectively. Now when these watches did launch the companies were so pre-occupied with selling the actual watch they did not think so much about the chargers. Yes, they came with a charger but there was absolutely no means to actually buy additional chargers. Now you may just want one for the sake of another room or for work but more importantly if you lost or broke your charger there was nothing you could do. Chargers were simply not purchasable.
Since then both companies have looked to rectify this with LG making available spare charges in August. However, Samsung were much slower in this respect and have only now seemed to manage to get the additional chargers to Google Play. So for all you Gear Live owners you can now purchase the additional (hopefully not replaceable) chargers for your watch. These are the official products and listed as Samsung Gear Live Charging Docks and are currently up for $14.99 a piece. Interestingly, for Moto 360 owners Google Play does list the replacement charger but with the ‘Coming soon’ tag. This is surprising as we reported last week official Moto 360 chargers are available for $39.99 via Best Buy. So if you are a gear Live owner and need a spare battery then click here to head over to Google Play while if you are a 360 owner then click here to head over to Best Buy.
So there you go. Although Samsung were the last to correct what seems like an obvious issue they have finally done so and now all three of the big first Android Wear smartwatch companies have backups of their respective docking stations. It is strange that it took Samsung this long to get it to market when both LG and Motorola managed to correct the situation relatively quickly. Either way, for work or for a replacement you can now get your additional chargers
