Lenovo’s main business doesn’t lay in smartphones, tablets and wearables, Lenovo’s main source of income is their PC business. This Chinese company is a well-known brand in the PC world and really does make some compelling Laptops, they’re everywhere. Though Lenovo also makes really solid smartphones, even though they’re not selling all that many of those, probably considering they usually price them too high and Chinese market is extremely competitive. Brands like Elephone, IUNI, Xiaomi and Meizu offer their products for less money than Lenovo does, so that probably has something do with the whole situation. Lenovo did however purchase Motorola Mobility from Google which basically means they’re rather serious as far as the mobile market goes and Lenovo itself manages to create something really great from time to time.
Anyhow, I’m here to talk about a rather appealing device made by Lenovo which is now available worldwide after being announced back in August, Lenovo A806 also known as Golden Warrior. This device packs some serious specs on the inside and costs only $179.99. The device features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS LCD display along with 2GB of RAM for your multitasking needs and 16GB of in-built storage (expandable via MicroSD card up to 32GB). The device is powered by MediaTek’s MT6592 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz which comes with a Mali-450MP4 GPU for graphics rendering. 13-megapixel camera is located at the back of the device along with an LED flash while there’s a 5-megapixel camera on the front of this device. The device ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS which has Lenovo’s skin on top of it and a 2500mAh battery is also included in the package. 140.5 x 70.8 x 9mm are the device’s measurement and it weighs 180 grams. Keep in mind that this is an LTE device.
Aside from carrying a rather odd name, this device is actually a good catch for the price. The reseller even says it will ship it worldwide for free (depending on the area though), so you basically pay $179.99 in total for this device, which seems really affordable considering the specs it packs on the inside. The device won’t break any records with its looks, but it’s okay looking I guess, so that shouldn’t be an issue either. In any case, I’m glad I finally stumbled upon an affordable and appealing smartphone made by this Chinese OEM.
