Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Expected to Hit T-Mobile (And Soon) After Passing FCC

Galaxy Note Edge 01

Samsung’s new Galaxy Note Edge is certainly one of the talking points of 2014. In short it would not be too far wrong to suggest this was one of the most (if not the most) controversial devices to be released this year. This is a true example of Marmite with the public literally either loving or hating the Samaung Galaxy Note Edge. By now you very much should be aware that the Note Edge is called Edge due to the device containing a curved right hand side edge. This is designed to offer an additional view of icons and notifications without actually having to attend to the device properly. This is the novelty bit that has divided so many techies over recent weeks.

That aside the device is decent offering very high specs including a 5.6-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution. Inside the device offers 3GB RAM and a Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor (clocks at 2.7GHz). The device comes with either 32 or 64GB internal storage and an external microSD card slot (up to 64GB). In terms of cameras you get a 16MP rear camera while the front shooter is a decent 3.7MP camera. Battery life shouldn’t be a problem on the Edge with a 3000mAh battery in tow. The device runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Samsung’s UX UI imprinted on top.

Now yesterday it was reported that the device had been spotted making a guest appearance on the FCC. Typically when a device does pass through the FCC it is usually a good indication that the device is very near a US release. Yesterday’s news was the device seemed to be listing LTE bands related to AT&T and U.S. Cellular. This highly suggested these would then be the first carriers offering the Edge when it lands in the US. Now today’s news is an update on this situation and without complicating things too much – there is good news, bad news and no news. The bad news is according to TechRadar (India) the Note Edge will definitely not be heading for U.S. Cellular. The TechRadar report states this has been directly confirmed to them by U.S. Cellular. So sorry USC guys. The good news however is that today The Note Edge seems to have passed through the FCC and more importantly is listing the LTE bands associated with T-Mobile. With this in mind it does seem that the Note Edge is edging closer to a US release although this is more likely to now be on T-Mobile. If you haven’t guessed yet, the no news is that there is no current update on the status of AT&T. Either way though it does seem the Note Edge will land in the US although currently all bets are on T-Mobile.
