HTC’s Double Exposure event brought us some interesting new devices and features. First up is the HTC Re Camera, HTC’s action camera like device that is designed to allow you to get out of the way of having fun while taking pictures and still get all the shots you never knew you could get. The Re Camera looks a little like a periscope, but all jokes aside it still seems pretty cool and I could totally see myself using it while out cycling and doing other outdoorsy stuff. The camera comes in four different colors, Orange, White, Navy Blue, and Teal, and it will be available in the U.S. just in time for the holidays according to HTC, and following with other regions globally later this year. However, you can start your pre-orders on the Re Camera now for the mere price of $199 by going to the Re Camera website.
Our own Alex Maxham was live at the event and was able to get some hands on time with both devices which allowed us a slew of photos, and we have them posted for you all here down below. Besides being the oddball camera device, the Re Camera actually has some pretty interesting functionality that we’re eager to test out. Specifically the companion app to the camera appropriately named the Re app, which allows the user to snap photos and record videos with the Re Camera by using their smartphone as the viewfinder. Are you interested at all in the Re Camera? Check out the images below and see what you think. Feel free to post your thoughts in the comments on our G+ post.
