Meizu MX4 Gets Some Competition, Zopo ZP999 Is The New Beast In Town

Zopo ZP999_3

As you all know, China is home to many smartphone manufacturers. Some of them are well-known worldwide, such as Huawei and Lenovo for example. Others are somewhat less known worldwide, but they’re growing at an incredible pace and are extremely popular in China, Xiaomi and Meizu definitely come to mind. There’s of course a third category in which belong the ones who are not that well-known but are trying to make a name for themselves, like Elephone, IUNI, UMi and the one we’ll talk about today, Zopo.

Zopo announced a rather interesting device back in September, Zopo ZP999 or Zopo Mini Hei 3 as it’s also called. Keep in mind that Zopo actually announced 2 versions of the device, we’ll focus on the high-end one. This device really does pack a lot of punch and might compete with the likes of Meizu MX4 for example. Zopo zp999 features a 5.5-inch 1080p OGS display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device is powered by MediaTek’s MT6595 octa-core LTE processor and it comes with a 2700mAh battery. On the back of the device you’ll find a 14-megapixel camera and this device actually scored over 50,000 at the AnTuTu benchmark test. The device will ship with Android 4.4 KitKat on top of which you’ll get Zopo’s own UI. This version of the device is now available for purchase from select stores, OppoMart is one of them where you can get this device no matter where you live for $399, though it is out of stock at the moment. The device is still not listed for sale on Zopo’s official website though, but its price should be around 2000 Yuan in China (perhaps its even listed somewhere).

Zopo ZP999 might compete directly with Meizu MX4 and if you take a look at the screenshots down below you’ll see a leaked comparison between the two devices. We have no idea if this is official material or not though, but someone created a rather targeted comparison with the Meizu’s current flagship. Both of these devices are available worldwide though Zopo is somewhat more affordable and the material down below is trying to prove it’s a better choice. Do you think Zopo can sell enough of these devices to come even close to Meizu? I really doubt it, considering Meizu is a more known brand. It’s going to be interesting to see how will this thing sell though.
