Two Alleged Sony Xperia E4 Renders Surface

Sony is not exactly striving in the mobile space these days, the company just isn’t selling enough devices and that caused them a lot of headaches thus far. The company had to cut costs in 2014, and they also said that they’ll focus their efforts on the high-end devices. This, of course, doesn’t mean they won’t be manufacturing low and mid-range devices, but there will be fewer of those compared to previous years. The Sony Xperia E3 was one of such devices which Sony unveiled in 2014, this handset was Sony’s low-mid range offering and we have some new info regarding its successor, the Xperia E4.

This device showed up at FCC at the end of last year, and now the renders showing off this device popped up. Two renders surfaced, one of which doesn’t show Sony’s logo, which is odd, while the other one has larger bezels. The one with the logo seems more legit though, that design seems possible, well, even probable actually. This render also shows off some sort of an accessory for the device, what seems to be a leather case. The red plastic case is also shown here, on the second less probable render, though as I already said, that image just seems off.

The Xperia E4 will allegedly feature a 5-inch 960 x 540 display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage (hopefully expandable though). MediaTek’s MT6582 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz will reportedly power on this thing along with Mali-400 MP4 GPU for graphics. 5-megapixel camera is expected to be this device’s main shooter, and a 1.9-megapixel snapper to be located on the front side of the device. The leak doesn’t mention the possible release date or anything of the sort, but considering this thing visited the FCC at the end of last year, it is quite possible that Sony intends to launch it during MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona in March. Take all of this with a pinch of salt though, these are all just rumors at this point, though the render look quite believable if you ask me.
