LG G Flex 2 Will Arrive In The UK As A Temporary Vodafone Exclusive

LG G Flex 2 Hands On AH-15

Yesterday was an interesting day at CES. Right from the start of the day, the news started coming in and especially from LG. What was most notable from the ‘other’ South Korean tech giant was the confirmation and launch of their LG G Flex 2 smartphone. This was a follow-up from their previous LG G Flex and as the name suggests consists of a flexible phone. To add to the news of the launch, almost as soon as the phone had been launched we started hearing further news on which carriers will carry the new Flex phone.

First up, the device will launch in South Korea by the end of January and following on from this, the G Flex 2 will be available in the US with AT&T and also with Sprint. in fact, it was reported that Sprint was also planning on releasing their own colored variant of the Flex 2. Well, news is now starting to come in about the future of the Flex in the UK. If you’re UK based then the latest is that the Flex will be available on Vodafone. In fact, not only with Vodafone be carrying the unit, but they will actually have an exclusive on the Flex 2 for its opening few weeks. It seems once the Flex 2 lands on UK shores, Vodafone will be the only carrier holding any for the opening six weeks. So if you want to be quick out of the stables with this device it seems Vodafone will be your only choice initially.

If you need a quick reminder, the G Flex 2 is a bit of a biggie device coming with a 5.5” display. The display is Full HD though with a 1920×1080 resolution. Inside, the device will come with 2GB RAM and powered by a 64-bit Octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor (which will clock at 2GHz). In terms of cameras, the Flex 2 will offer a 13MP shooter on the back and a modest 2.1MP front facing camera. While in terms of memory the device is expected to be available in a 16 or 32GB variant, along with a microSD card slot for further memory. Additional features worth noting is the device comes with a decent 3,000mAh battery and running on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). So, any UK readers out there thinking about picking the Flex 2 up? Let us know.
