Hands On MediaTek’s Android Wear Prototype Smartwatch With a Camera tucked in the Strap

MediaTek CES 2015 AH-3

Today, the floor at CES has finally opened up. Officially. So Nick is running around the LVCC getting hands on of all the cool new products that were announced yesterday as well as others we may have missed. So you’ll see a bunch of hands-on posts coming out today. Over at MediaTek’s booth, they have a new smartwatch prototype they are showing off. It is running Android Wear, which is what caught our eye. It’s got a 1.6-inch 240×240 resolution display, as well as an array of sensors including motion, accelerometer, gyro, heart rate detection, proximity, and pressure. On top of all of that, there’s also a camera in the strap. Kinda of reminds you of the original Galaxy Gear right? We weren’t able to test out the camera or anything, but I doubt that’s a good camera. It’s probably a VGA, or 2-3MP camera in there. Check out the gallery down below to see how this smartwatch looks, it’s not bad for a prototype, in my opinion.
