Here’s how you can stream Super Bowl XLIX on your Android device for free, no log-in required

Because the world doesn’t stop (not even for football), those of you who find yourselves away from the TV on Super Bowl Sunday need not worry. You’ll be able to stream the entire game and then some free of charge on Android tablets using the NBC Sport Live Extra app in the Google Play Store — no TV subscription log-in required.

Starting at noon on February 1st, NBC is allowing Android users to stream 11 consecutive hours of live content via the app and includes all pre and post-game shows, halftime show with Kat Perry (where’s Justin Timberlake when you need him?), and even the latest episode of the hit drama “The Blacklist” starring James Spader.

NBC’s benevolence is in an effort raise awareness of TV Everywhere and their online viewing platforms but doesn’t come without a catch. According to Reuters , when streaming on your smartphone, Super Bowl XLIX viewing will only be available to Verizon Wireless customers via the NFL Mobile app. Ouch. For everyone else, we’d recommend sticking to streaming via the NBC Sports Live Extra website.
