Google Unveiling Nexus 9 Tomorrow, Says Forbes

Google-Logo-AH-4

At this point, it’s all but confirmed that Google will be announcing the Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Android L tomorrow. They are likely going to drop a few press releases announcing the devices around 9-10am PST. Although nothing is officially confirmed, all the rumors and reports are pointing to October 15th, and it being available around November 1st. Now we’re hearing from Forbes that the Nexus 9 will indeed be announced tomorrow. It’s hard to imagine the Nexus 9 being announced without the Nexus 6 and Android L though, so we are pretty sure those will be announced tomorrow too. So far we have no word on pricing of the Nexus 6, but the Nexus 9 is said to start at $399.

The Nexus 9 is supposedly going to have a 1080p display, an NVIDIA Tegra K1 64-bit processor inside, along with 3GB of RAM. We’ve also heard rumors of it being 4GB of RAM, so we’ll have to keep an eye out for that. It’s also rumored that the 16GB model will go for $399 and the 32GB model at $499. There’s also word that Google and HTC have opted for a brushed aluminum frame instead of an aluminum unibody like the HTC One M8. This is likely to keep costs down. As the Nexus devices are typically pretty cheap, and an aluminum unibody wouldn’t be cheap. HTC and Google are also supposed to be offering an Origami magnetic case, similar to the one from the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX that was announced last year.

So it’s all but confirmed now. Now we just sit back and wait for tomorrow. It’s like the day before Christmas, right? Hopefully we aren’t disappointed with new Nexus hardware this year. How many of you are more interested in Android L than new Nexus hardware? Let us know in the comments down below.
