Google Nexus 6 Gets Benchmarked on Geekbench

Nexus 5 AH 2.1

We all knew this would happen sooner or later, and here we have some benchmarks for what will be the next Nexus smartphone. This typically happens within a few weeks from the announcement of the new Nexus. And from what I’ve been told, we should expect an announcement around October 15th. So get ready for next week guys. The Google Nexus 6 is supposedly going to sport a 2560×1440 resolution display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB of RAM. So in other words, it’s going to be a beast. And pretty similar spec wise to the Korean LTE-A LG G3. The Nexus 6 is codenamed “Shamu” and we basically know why, it’s a 5.9-inch display. Which makes it a pretty large device. But by the same token, it’s still smaller than the iPhone 6 Plus.

Down below there are benchmarks for both single-core and multi-core. On Single-core, the Motorola Nexus 6 beat everything except for the iPhone 5S and 6. However, in the multi-core test, the Motorola Nexus 6 beat everything. Although, it’s worth noting that the Galaxy Note 4 wasn’t listed, so it probably hasn’t been tested yet.

So we’re looking at a pretty powerful beast here in the Nexus 6. We should find out next week, all the details of the new Nexus, as well as Android L. This morning, we saw a leak of the back of the HTC Nexus 9. Which didn’t really tell us much, but it did have the “Nexus” logo on the back of the device, which is nice to see. The Nexus 6 is said to have at least 32GB of storage. Now this could mean we’ve got 16GB and 32GB storage options again, or maybe something bigger. I’m hoping for a 64GB Nexus 6. With the QHD display, we’re going to need that extra storage for that content. How many of you are excited for the next Nexus? Let us know in the comments below.
