‘Face For Wear’ Now Available On The Play Store Offering Even More Smartwatch Custom Faces

Sorry, do you know what the time is? I bet a good number of you are loving hearing this question at the moment. Now every time you are asked the time you have another opportunity to extend your arm, pull back your sleeve and show-off your latest smartwatch. So what it is? Moto 360? Or you were one of the early buyers of the Samsung Gear Live or LG G Watch? Either way you are probably loving strangers asking you the time and then of course the follow-on question ”oh is that the new….” yadda yadda

But how do you like the watch face so far? Well, if you don’t like the standard pre-installed faces there are plenty of downloadable apps like Facer which offer you the ability to customize or load alternative faces to your device. It now seems (albeit later than the rest) another app has hit the market. Face for Wear hit the Play Store a couple of days ago and seems as good as those already available. This app (like others) allows you to push a number of pre-made faces to your device although this app claims this is one of the easier apps to install custom faces. Users simply browse the options available and if you like one click the ‘Send to Wear’ button and off it goes. In addition to the standard custom faces provided Face for Wear also offers users quite a wide ability to make your own design. Users can simply download the template and add whatever image and design they want. Once created users then have the ability to upload their design to the app and make it available to other users on the Play Store. The developers note there is no limit to how many faces users can design or what they can charge for their designs. Kerching!

The app is available now and priced at $1.99. If you are thinking of giving the app a go then it is worth noting this is a first public release of the app. The developers do note this by explaining that it is a “work in progress” and further adding that many new features will be available in time. So don’t be surprised if after downloading, the app does change somewhat after future updates. Whether this will be a viable competitor for the already established custom face apps we shall see, but until then if you do try it then let us know what you think. Is this better then Facer?
