Top Android Homescreen September 19th Edition: Bridge

Bridge_original

Another week another homescreen. This week’s pick is a little different than some of the last few picks as it takes on less of minimalist approach and attempts to give you access to access to plenty of the things that we use on a daily basis, but without forfeiting that elegant design that themers love to see when customizing their own homescreens. It’s called Bridge, and was created by 21MaRcO12. We have featured some Marco’s work on here before, and as usual you can find all the details you need at the mycolorscreen page for this homescreen, which we have linked for you at the bottom in the source link. We’ll gloss over what you need to get this look if you dig it, and be sure to show some appreciation for the creator by “zooming” the picture and hitting the love button.

For starters you’ll need a couple of applications to replicate this homescreen for yourself. The first app is Zooper Pro for the widgets that you’ll be adding to the homescreen. Secondly you’ll need a third party home launcher app, something like Nova Prime or Apex Pro to get the style. You’ll also want to pick up an app called media utilities which will allow for the media controls to function on the music widget. Once you have those three apps downloaded and installed, the first thing you’ll want to do is resize your homescreen grid. To do this in Nova Prime you simply just have to press and hold your finger anywhere on the homescreen that is open, which brings up a Nova popup action window, from which you can enter into Nova settings. Find the Homescreen category and enter it to get to and modify the homescreen grid. You’ll want to change your homescreen grid to 8 x 6, with 8 rows and 6 columns, and make sure that there are no margins.

Next you’ll want to exit the homescreen category and go back to the main page of Nova settings, enter Dock settings, and disable the dock. You also want to hide the notification bar, and disable the “show shadow” option. This homescreen style consists of two separate homescreens, no more, no less, and you will only need to place two widgets, which can be found by jumping to the source link where the creator provides a link for a download of the files. Both widget files are 8 x 6. If you enjoyed this top homescreen pick be sure to +1 the post and check out some of our other picks, and see what we have coming in the following weeks. As always, happy themeing and have a great weekend!
