Galaxy A5 (SM-A500F) Details and Images Leak Out

I believe we can all agree that Galaxy Alpha is one of the best looking and feeling smartphone Samsung has ever built. Well, that’s my humble opinion at the very least. After the launch of Galaxy Alpha in all its metallic glory last month we’ve seen some reports Samsung intends to make a line of devices based off of Galaxy Alpha. Many rumors followed mentioning Samsung SM-A500 device which was mainly shown as a mid-range offering.

SamMobile delivers exclusive information when it comes to this new device along with a bunch of images to go with that. It was earlier confirmed that SM-A500 will be first in the line of handsets based off of Galaxy Alpha and now SamMobile says the device will be launch under the Galaxy A5 name. This will be a mid-range device according to them and it won’t feature a full-metal body as it was stated earlier. According to their source, this device won’t be made either out of plastic or metal, but a material that “feels cold in the hand”, whatever that means. I personally think of metal whenever I hear those words in context of a smartphone, but apparently it won’t be metal. Perhaps Samsung will use some non-standard material in order to keep the cost down, though I really don’t know what to make of this considering it has to be some sort of metal if its based off of Galaxy Alpha handset. Oh well, we’ll find out more soon I guess.

This device is expected to feature a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) Super AMOLED display along with a 2,330mAh battery and 16GB of internal storage. 13-megapixel camera is expected to be this device’s main shooter while a 5-megapixel snapper will probably be located up front. The device will allegedly come with the newest version of TouchWiz (logically) and you can check out a bunch of leaked images down below.

I honestly don’t know what to make out of all this, the material talk is rather confusing and I’m actually wondering what will we get in the end. SamMobile didn’t share a launch date or time frame, but I guess we’ll see the device launched soon. What are your thoughts on all this?
