Android How To: Customize your Launch Phrase for Moto Voice on the Moto X

Moto-Voice-tutorial-AH-1

One of the big features in last year’s Moto X was the ability to say “OK Google Now” even with the screen off and have it do all kinds of things, like tell you the weather, help you find your phone, etc. This year, Motorola has refined it a bit. Now you can actually call it whatever you want. While I was in Chicago at Motorola’s event, the example they used while briefing us was “OK Jarvis”. While most of us reviewers have just stuck to “OK Moto X” But you can say whatever you want. Even “Hey you over there” if you really wanted to. Today, we are going to show you how you can change that. It’s actually quite simple.

  1. Open your App Drawer

  2. Tap on “Moto”

  3. Now tap on the gear icon on the top right-hand corner

  4. Tap on “Voice”

  5. Now Tap on “Manage Launch Phrase”

  6. Tap on “Change or improve Launch Phrase”

From there you will be able to change it or improve it if you want. You can also add a reminder, in case you forget the launch phrase. It’s a really cool feature that Motorola has here, and they say they are bringing it to the original Moto X, but according to those with the original Moto X, it isn’t available just yet.
