Google Glass Likely To Soon Be Available In Canada

Canadian Google fans rejoice! It looks like the Google Glass Explorer Edition might soon be available for purchase in Canada. This information comes from Glass Explorer Brian Buquoi who recently put together a couple of clues that point to the Canadian release of Google Glass.

The first clue that Brian Buquoi uncovered came from the XE21 firmware of Google Glass, which included an image that was names “regulatory_info_canada.png”. This included an image of an Industry Canada license number. Brian then coincidentally received a replacement Glass unit shortly after that included a card detailing Google Glass’ regulatory approval in Canada. The card read like so, “This unit of Google Glass Explorer Edition has been approved by Industry Canada (IC) for use in Canada”. The card goes on to include more irrelevant information but needless to say, this is definitely saying that Glass will soon be for sale in Canada.

When Google Glass finally does become available for people in Canada to purchase it will be the third country to do so, and the second outside the US to do so. As of now Glass is only available for purchase in the US and the UK but now it looks like Canada will definitely be added to that list soon and we are very glad to see this. Hopefully more countries will have Glass available for purchase soon as well so that more and more people can get it into their hands and provide Google the much needed user-data to make Glass a mainstream product one day.
