Typically, while Nexus smartphones have had issues with battery life, Nexus tablets have been the complete opposite. Both Nexus 7’s had great battery life, and so did the Nexus 10. So what kind of battery might we see in this year’s tablet, the Nexus 9 from HTC? Well I’m hoping for something big. Hopefully a 5,000mAh battery. Given that the Nexus 7 had a 3950mAh battery, I think we could see the Nexus 9 get a beefy 5,000mAh battery inside. It would also help with the Tegra K1 processor, as that does use up a lot of juice. However, the Tegra K1 does do incredible gaming performance, which is a big plus for a lot of us right now.
Also, don’t forget that Android L has some crazy battery saving features in it this time around. As we’ve seen from early developer previews that Android L has increased battery life by about 30%, which is actually a big deal. Think about it. If you’re getting 15 hours off the charger with 3 hours on screen, Android L would bring that to 20 hours and 4 hours on screen. Which doesn’t seem like a lot, but it really is. So there’s also that to think about.
What size battery would you love to see in the Nexus 9 this time around? Let us know in the comments down below.
