Google I/O is now less than 10 days away and for many that means one thing and one thing only. We finally get to see officially what Android Wear looks like from an in depth perspective by Google themselves. Google is slated to give more details about Android Wear at the developer conference on the 25th and 26th, and we know for this various reasons including the sessions about Android Wear taking place on either day. The other factor about Android Wear at the event is that we’ll be getting to see the first of the smartwatches running the Android Wear software up close and personal from Google, the LG G Watch. There have been plenty of rumors about when and where the LG G Watch would begin selling and it’s now known that Google I/O attendees will be getting their very own G Watch given away to them at the event.
The latest rumor suggests that Google may actually be looking to sell the LG G Watch on Google Play in the devices section, which honestly wouldn’t strike us as a surprise. The information comes to us from a German website androidnext.de that points out some findings on the German version of the Google Play devices page, which lists some interesting information that seems to be about the G Watch. There is a header on the page that has no pictures associated with it yet, but states that “G Watch never sleeps. The always-on display will show you time and notifications without you having to touch it”, with a header that simply says, “Continuously Active Display”. Another mention under the header comments that the device has a 400mAh battery inside, which we know isn’t any of the Chromebooks or Nexus devices.
There have already been rumors that Google would be planning to sell the G Watch via Google Play alongside the other devices that we can already see and purchase there, and this further gives weight to those rumors. After having checked the German version of the Play Store page where this information was found, it looks as though Google has fixed whatever information wasn’t supposed to be there in the first place, but we do have images(screenshots)to show that it used to be there courtesy of the source.
