One of the benefits of Android 5.0 (Lollipop) is its more unifying experience across devices and platforms. Lollipop, in short, looks to offer a similar level of function and experience on any and all android devices you are using. Whether a smartwatch, a smartphone or Android TV, the principle is the same, with the end-goal to be one of a unified experience across devices. Well, if the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are anything to go by, then it seems clear that Samsung are taking a much more functional and end-user approach to their devices this year and going forward. In light of this, it might not come as too much of a surprise to learn that Samsung are also looking to unify the end-user experience across their devices and across their platforms.

As such, the latest rumors emerging is that Samsung are working on their own ‘Samsung Browser’. The main noteworthy feature being touted for the Samsung Browser, is that it will also unify experience across Samsung devices and actually across all their compatible platforms. The information (source link below) suggests that the Samsung Browser will look to offer the same level of functionality across all of the Samsung 2015 devices from smartphones, to tablets, to laptops and even through to their TV’s. In addition, the information suggests the browser will also be available offering the same like experience across operating systems on both Tizen (web and mobile) and Android (web and mobile).

A few of the notable features being stated for the Samsung Browser, include fast browsing which has been optimized for the platform and device being used, as well as connecting between devices. Like, for instance, the ability to cast from one Samsung browser to another, on another device. Features on offer are also stated to include the ability to save pages for offline use/reading, while the browser is additionally noted to include and offer features specifically designed to utilize their S-Pen. Not to mention, the Samsung Browser is reported to offer improved and enhanced video content playback. Lastly, the information notes that the browser is currently still based on WebKit and does not provide support for Adobe Flash Video and instead is compatible with HTML5 video. Although, a future version of the browser will be based on Chromium’s Blink.
