LG G4 Pops up on GFX Bench with a Snapdragon 808, 15MP camera, QHD Display and More!

We’re getting closer and closer to the LG G4 being made official. And it just made waves on GFX Bench, which is a benchmark that gets used quite often. Not only does it show us the results from the benchmark test, but it also shows us a good number of the specs of the new device. We can also see that the model number is the F500x. Which is likely the Korean version, as the Korean version of the LG G line of smartphones have typically started with an F, while the Verizon models are VS and Sprint are LS.

According to the benchmark here, we’re looking at a 5.5-inch 2560×1440 resolution display. As well as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 processor which is hexa-core CPU clocked at 1.8GHz, and an Adreno 418 GPU inside. Additionally, we’re looking at about 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. As far as the cameras go, we have a 15MP shooter on the back and a 7MP shooter on the front. Kinda interesting to see them going with a 7MP shooter on the front. As we usually jump from 2MP to 5MP to 8MP. However, much like the RAM listed is 2.8GB, this could be a 16MP shooter and a 8MP shooter for the back and front cameras, respectively.

We’ve heard a lot of talk about the Snapdragon 810 not being all that great, and that it overheats. Which it does get a bit warm. So this could be why LG has opted to go with the Snapdragon 808 chipset instead. While it is a bit lower end, we did also hear from LG that the G4 won’t be their high-end flagship for the year. And that they are planning on announcing another flagship lineup this year. They’ve also stated that the new UI they will be using will also be announced ahead of the LG G4 announcement. A bit strange to see the LG G4 no longer being a flagship, after the success LG has had with the G2 and G3 in the past two years. We should know more in the next few months, what LG has planned for their smartphones in 2015.
