Motorola Droid Turbo (Aka Moto Maxx) Will Launch In India Soon

Droid-Turbo-AH-2

Flipkart is India’s biggest online retailer, many smartphone manufacturers sell their devices via Flipkart, and to many of them this e-retailer is the only channel through which they sell their devices in that Asian country. That being said, this retailer has teased the arrival of a new Motorola-branded smartphone via Facebook. They didn’t exactly say which smartphone we’re talking about here, but the teaser does contain various quite revealing hints, like “get your life turbocharged” and “ballistic nylon fairing”. Thanks to these hints it’s quite easy to come to a conclusion, Motorola will launch their Droid Turbo (also known as the Moto Maxx) device in India soon.

This handset was originally announced in the U.S. in October last year. The device was unveiled by Motorola and Verizon, and was re-introduced later on as Moto Maxx in some international markets. This device sports ballistic nylon and Kevlar, which makes the Flipkart teaser quite easy to figure out. The device also ships with a water-repellent nanocoating in order to offer you more protection against splashes and what not. Flipkart didn’t exactly specify when will the device land in India, but they did say “soon”. Either way, we’ll let you know as soon as Motorola and Flipkart announce this thing in India.

The Droid Turbo features a 5.2-inch QuadHD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display along with 3GB of RAM and 32 or 64GB of non-expandable internal storage. This handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz which ships with an Adreno 420 for graphics. 21-megapixel camera is located on the back of this device and is flanked by a dual-LED flash, while there’s a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter also included in this package. The non-removable 3,900mAh battery ships with this device, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed here, though it’s possible that the device will launch with Android Lollipop once it arrives in India. Motorola did include a couple of their own applications in the package, though this is mostly stock Android we’re talking about here.

We’ll let you know as soon as we get some additional details regarding all of this, and in the meantime make sure you tell us if you’d be interested in purchasing this device once it arrives in India.
